The Setup

It started out like any ordinary day, went to work, came home. As I got home, Matt greeted me with a big hug and a kiss. We were deciding on what to have for dinner, when he suggested that we treat ourselves to really good dinner. We decided to go down to Port Jefferson and have a great seafood dinner. After a delicious meal and some nice wine, we went for a walk around Port Jeff. We stopped for some ice cream at the Frigget and continued our walk. It was such a beautiful night. We laughed, we kissed, we held hands. We were so filled with love and emotion the whole night.

It is a platinum antique setting with a brilliant cushion cut stone, and 7 round stones on each side

After walking around, we hopped in the car and went home. As we went inside, we started to follow our nightime ritual (I turn the bed down and get the tv ready while Matt grabs some ice water for us.) As I was turning down the bed, Matt called me into the kitchen to help him with something. I walked down the hallway and turned the corner into the kitchen. To my amazement, there was Matt, down on one knee. He had the engagement ring in one hand and a cake in the other. "Will you marry me?" was written across the top of the cake.

This was the first time I had seen Matt speechless (lol). He had tears in his eyes and I started crying immediately. I jumped into his arms with a loud "YES!!" It was the best night of our lives. Since we were home, we were able to visit both of our families to share the wonderful news.
