In true Chris style, he proposed on April Fool's Day while Chris came to pick me up for his cousin Michael's confirmation party. While I was still doing my hair, Chris gave me a card that said that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. However, I had heard that "MANY" times before, so thought nothing of it and went on with what I was doing. Then, Chris said wait I have something else for you and got down on both knees (as I was sitting on the floor at this point) and asked me to marry him. Needless to say, I was VERY shocked and unbelievably happy - I think that I was so shocked it too me minutes to stop shaking and get my speech back so that I could tell him, "Of course." We had an amazing engagement night. First, we told my parents - who were very happy - my dad told Chris that he works fast as Chris had asked for my father's permission the day before. Then, we went to Chris' family's party where he "surprised" his mother, however, at first, she didn't believe him because Chris always tries to trick her on April Fool's Day and she said that this year she wasn't falling for it, but it was true. Last, we headed to my best friend's house to celebrate our engagement with my sister, brother-in-law, and our friends (and oh yeah, I think we were celebrating my best friend's birthday too.....).
