The Place The Empire State Building

The Setup

We both had the day off of work, and had wanted to go the the city for the day, so we planned a day trip to the Empire State Building. Although I was fighting to go to the Museum of Natural History lol!

I found out earlier that day that he had already bought the tickets to go onto the 86th floor viewing level of the building. While we were going through all of the security checkpoints of the building, there seemed to be a problem, Dave was brought to the side and I was told to go to the last line and to enter the metal detector. I had no idea what was going on, turns out that Dave told one of the security officers that he had a ring and found out it would set off the alarm, so he had to sneak past the detector. I still had no idea as to what was happening. Once we got through the security checkpoint, we were escorted to the elevator that would take us to the viewing area. Once we got up there we were looking out over the city skyline. We found a less windy part of the building and just stood there taking in the view. Dave then proceeded to tell me how important I was to him, I'm still clueless!! As we look out over the city, he points to a large empty space and asks me if I know what used to be there. I didn't. He tells me that's where the Twin Towers used to be. After a few minutes he told me that he has another question for me. Then askes me if I'm ready for the question. I say yes. He asked it again...so I was like...ok. I'm ready!!! He then got down on one knee and pulled out my beautiful ring!!!
