My man in uniform

When I first started to meet people online, I would have never thought that I would meet such a perfect man.
Derrick sent me a wink on Match.com on afternoon and I thought, “a man in uniform—that's nice!”
I sent a wink back at him, and he then took the time to really tell me about himself and the things he wanted from himself in life. That was what won me over. I had him meet me at the hotel I was working at with one of my friends and we all went to the diner and got ice cream.
After that night, we scheduled a lunch date, then a dinner date. Things just started to fall into place. We would go play in the park. About 3 weeks after we first met, he went away for a weekend to attend a wedding, and that was the true test for us—we both couldn't wait to see each other after he returned that Sunday. After that we spent every day together and when we weren't together we were sending little text message's counting down the time till we would see each other again.

Now we are engaged to be married. I would have never thought that this could really be true, but Derrick and I are walking proof that love can be around any corner. Thanks, Match.com!
