When? 2000

Where? John Jay College of Criminal Justice

We both attended the Forensic Science Program at John Jay College in Manhattan, New York. In 2000 we started classes together and although he did not take Biology, he often was found in the lecture hall with his friend James. Apparently he wanted to talk to me and was too chicken to do so (not that I blame him). I did not even notice him there.

We were, however, in Chemistry class together and I saw him as the "guy in the tie dyed shirt" that always sat in the front corner (with my soon to be friends). Since there was no choice of classes at John Jay we were all destined to get to know one another. Not to say I wasn't secretly interested in him to begin with.

Although he and I talked casually amongst our group of Friends, Jen, James, Lacey, Dan, Lauren, and Steve, the breaking of the ice came when I literally broke my knee. Here he was in Law and Evidence sitting in the front (I know he's such a nerd) and here I was sitting with Marc well in the back, letting him cheat off of me, and what happens, Russ comes by and carries my books to Physics class every day while I'm wobbling along on my crutches.
