He Popped the Question!
The Date December 20, 2008
The Place Cara Mia Due Ristorante, Seaford N.Y.
After dinner, our song came on in the restaurant. Our informed waiter, Pat, handed us the dessert menu. Jim hand created a dessert menu equipped with my name in an acrostic poem, and a personalized love poem on the back. As I read confusedly, he got down on one knee.
For over a week before the proposal day, Jim asked me to go out to dinner with him. I had been having a stressful time before the holidays, and answered that we'd see. My friend, Christine, aided in coaxing me to go out that day. Jim was very persistent, and even picked me up that day. We went to Roosevelt Field mall in Westbury, and spent the day during Christmas shopping. Finally, exhausted and hungry, Jim proposed we go to dinner. I was in the mood for Chinese, but he insisted we go to Cara Mia. We had a drink at the bar, and had a very nice meal. After sharing an appetizer and pasta, our waiter insisted we look at the dessert menu. I received the beautiful dessert menu, which was an acrostic of my name on the front, and a beautiful poem on the back. I was totally confused, and as I looked up and questioned, there he was, on his knee, holding a beautiful ring, and nervously but happily asked me to marry him. I said yes, and the restaurant cheered! We went back to celebrate with our immediate families.
