The Setup

We were dating about 6 months and we went out to Montauk to sit on the rocks by the lighthouse. As we were sitting there Rich turned to me and told me that he was so in love with me and wanted to marry me some day....

On December 30, 2007 about 4pm, Rich and I drove out to Montauk to stroll along the beach and climb out on the rocks. It was a bit chilly so we got some hot chocolate and I put on my gloves (he wouldn't put his gloves on and I kept asking him why). So we were sitting on the rocks watching the waves hit the rocks as the sun was setting, and Rich turned to me and said "do you remember what I said to you out here when we were first dating?" and I said "yes I do".....and he said " well I figured it was only fitting since I told you I wanted to marry you out here, that I would propose to you out here, will you marry me?" Of course I started crying and I said "YES"....it was perfect, since it was a little chilly and getting dark there was nobody out there, it was only us....LOL he later told me that is why he didn't put his gloves on, because he was afraid of dropping the ring in the Atlantic Ocean.
