A Crowd Pleaser: A Photo Booth for Wedding Entertainment
by Rachel Derry(Staff Writer NYCityWeddings)
When it comes to wedding trends, sometimes they can be hit or miss. You either absolutely love the concept, or see it as a passing trend. After all, isn't part of your special day supposed to be about creating that once-in-a-lifetime, unique event? Why would you want to follow another bride's trend? Well, there are some amazing styles that are just too good to pass up, and that will make your wedding one to remember for a lifetime. One such trend definitely has to be the wedding photo booth!
You already have a photographer and videography, why would you possibly need a photo booth on top of that? Photo booth rentals cannot be lumped in with other wedding recordings. Wedding photography and videography is meant to capture the magic that is you wedding day; record all of the special moments to be relived for generations to come. A photo booth, however, is a magic all its own. Where a photographer will capture all the smiles and joy, a photo booth will inspire and capture a spark of spontaneity, youth, and silliness that would have never come out otherwise. A photo booth inspires even the most shy and reserved guests out of their seat and participating in the party.
Like your wedding photography and videography, a photo booth gives you great pictures of your friends and loved ones to remember forever. Unlike the others, though, you receive the results the day of your wedding! At the end of the night, you will usually receive a flash drive copy of all of your photo booth photos to go through and reminisce the next day!
When you go to book your own photo booth for your wedding day or event, there are a couple considerations that you will want to keep in mind.
-Ask to see the model of photo booth that will be at your wedding. Make sure it is esthetically pleasing to you and fits into your dream wedding scheme. Some booths may be a little too modern or vintage for your taste. You also want to make sure that the booth is well maintained and cared for.
-Check out what kind of camera is being used in your booth. Some photo booths will use a video camera rather than a photo camera. Although all of your guests' photos will come out looking clear on their copies, with a video camera, your digital copies will be much lower resolution than with a photo camera.
-Research what features you would like your photo booth to have. Some booths have the ability to instantly upload the photos to the internet or email them directly. When you've decided what you'd like, look for a company from there.
-Think about the space you have, and where your photo booth will go. Although photo booths can be fit into almost any location, you will need to think about how the company will get the booth where you want it. If the will need to go up or down stairs, let the company know so that they're adequately prepared. Some types of booths may not even be able to be maneuvered on stairs.
