“Cut”: Wedding Day DVDs As Gifts Or Favors

by Mia Bolaris-Forget (Staff Writer NYCityWeddings)

If you’re family is anything like my family (and in some cases, dh’s family), especially the mom, they typically save everything their children give them and the wedding was one of those biggies, as far as moments were concerned. In fact, I’m surprised my mom didn’t save every scrap from all my do-it-yourself projects.

And, with friends having moved out of state, it’s nice to be able to look back on fond memories. So, like for most brides, the idea of offering guests, at least those who were interested, a documentation of this special day and celebration, as part of a “favor package” was simply perfect.

And, while experts agree, they do caution against giving guests an “uncut” version. Instead they suggest “editing” the guests’ final cut to about 5 or 10 minutes (tops) focusing only on all the highlights of the day.
