Cashing In: Wedding Gift Etiquette

While in some parts of the world, its customary to give store-bought gifts to the happily wed newlyweds, the local tradition leans towards money, the gift that keeps on giving.

And, most couples open their envelopes as soon as they get home from the reception. However, most also leave for their honeymoon shortly thereafter, and that means little or no time to express their gratitude. Still, that money just may come in handy on the honeymoon. But, can you cash a check before bestowing your thank yous on your generous guests. The answer is “yes”. In fact, its best to deposit or cash checks immediately so that you don’t leave money lying around. Just make sure you sent your sentiments of thanks shortly after returning.
