Q & A

Tell us something about some of your Wedding Packages and other events that you offer?

Lessing's Weddings are unique events held in Historic Waterfront Mansions with spectacular Water views. At our Mansions, Lessing’s caters to every type of event, from small, intimate affairs to extraordinary extravaganzas consisting of several thousand guests.

What makes your location unique and special?

Since each of our Mansions is a turn of the century landmark, every location offers a unique flavor that will make your Wedding day a time of great memories.

Tell us how your facility differs form the “norm” and how you can make a couple’s or family’s wedding/event magic happen and wedding/event dreams come true?

Lessing’s has been providing exceptional Cuisine and Service since 1890. Once people come to a Lessing’s event, they usually recommend us to their friends and families.

What kind of couple/client would you say you and your facility most cater to?

Each event is unique, here at Lessing’s we strive to provide an event that is tailored to the wishes, personality, and budget of our clients.

Tell us about the Magic and Ambiance your facility has to offer for each season.

Each of the Lessing’s Mansions differs in their surroundings and water views. Each of our Mansions is located on very desirable Waterfront properties, each offering something extra special with each season since each location can boast a completely unique look and feel inspired by nature and each sensational season.

Tell us about some of the unique events you’ve hosted.

Here at Lessing’s no event is too small or too big…and we take great pride in EVERYTHING we do. So, every party is one we can be proud of.

However, some of our most outstanding moments include: Lessing's being the chosen Cater for “MY FAIR WEDDING” episode Two. Peter Lessing (Corporate Executive Chef) was featured on the show and was interviewed by David Tutera.

Tell us about some of the hot trends in catering and how you are helping to set such trends.

Peter Lessing our executive Chef has developed a wonderful stations menu. This menu features a wide variety of stations to choose from for dinner. It is extremely innovative, unique, fun and exciting. Plus, it offers a very contemporary twist to the traditional, one that is sure to be deliciously memorable.

How far in advance should a client start looking for a Catering Hall?

More than a year out should be the minimum. Our Mansions are very popular and tend to reserve quickly.

How far in advance should a couple/client book their Catering hall?

Holiday weekends, Saturday evenings, special dates and Friday Evenings tend to reserve quickly. If a client wants a special date they should come in early to reserve or remain flexible on their date of interest.

How can you help couples/clients “customize” their special event?

Every event is different, and each event requires special attention. Each of our events is assigned an Event Coordinator that works with each party to make it truly special.

Wedding Tip on the Week

Sizing Up the Site

There are a few things to look at when choosing your reception location. Be certain that the parking accomodations are sufficient for your guests. Make sure that there is a ratio of one toilet per every 25 to 30 guests. Also, when picking a room for the reception, it's better to have a smaller, more cozy room than a large surplus of space. It is also more cost effective!
