Q & A
"My brides and grooms appreciate my dignified, thoughtful ceremonies. It is most gratifying for me to help craft a ceremony with a couple. Each couple knows they can count on me because they can tell that I really care about making their wedding day memorable. I always review the exact words and various other aspects of the ceremony with the bride and groom well in advance so there are no surprises on their wedding day, the most important day of their lives.”1. What type of services do you offer?
As both a Retired Judge and an Interfaith Minister, I perform personalized civil, spiritual and religious ceremonies. My wife Ann is also an ordained minister and performs civil and religious wedding ceremonies.
2. What types of “religious” ceremonies can you perform?
For two years we attended and then graduated from The New Seminary and were ordained as Interfaith Ministers. The seminary, located in New York City, is the oldest interfaith seminary in the United States. We perform religious ceremonies for brides and grooms of the same or different religions. We respect all religions, faiths and traditions and work with each couple to integrate the elements the bride and groom desire to have included in the ceremony.
3. Do you conduct interfaith ceremonies?
A significant number of the ceremonies I have performed over the past 25 years have been interfaith. I have married brides and grooms of different beliefs, faiths and religions including Christian, Jewish, Moslem, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist as well as Atheism and other beliefs.
4. How far in advance should a couple book with you?
To make sure my wife, Rev. Ann Corbett or I can reserve a date, it is best to call a year in advance. However, we have performed ceremonies with a day or just a few hours notice. We do civil and religious ceremonies at venues throughout the New York area and in our office on a walk in basis.
5. Do you have any special requirements for marrying a couple?
The couple must have a marriage license. Photo ID for the bride and groom. No other requirements other than that they are serious and in love with each other. We are known for our reliability, dignity and professionalism, and we are honored to be asked by a couple to perform their wedding.
