Noticed something in a picture AFTER Saying Yes to the Dress!!

I'm sort of freaking out. Yesterday, I said Yes to the dress. I LOVE my dress and in-person, it felt/looked flawless on me... to all five people I had with me. However, upon reviewing the (crappy) iPhone pictures taken while I was trying the dress on, I noticed something funky happening at the top of the pleats on the dress, near the lower belting detail on the dress.

There's a weird folding happening where the pleat meets the bottom of the lower belt detailing (you can see it more in a close-up). I don't know what is causing it and I can't remember if I saw it in person. But of course, now I'm worried. I don't know if it just means it's too tight on me and if I lost weight, it would look better, or if a crinoline skirt under it might poof it out a bit and fix it. OR is it because the length of the dress hasn't been altered yet and it's hitting the floor, crinkling it at the top of the pleats? I have no idea. I wish I had noticed it while I was there.

UGH, I'm just worried. Does it look as bad as I think it does?

I think the reason I'm really worried is because when she took my measurements to order the dress, she sized me for the same size as the dress I tried on, which means it won't look any different. And when she measured me, my Bust and Waist fit in the size chart for a size 14 (which I ordered), but my hips fit the size chart for a 16, but she said, because it was a full skirt, I didn't have to go up to a size 16.

Then, of course, I saw the stock photo of the dress and the pleats are not doing that in that photo.

I planned to lose weight anyway, but I'm afraid it won't help. What should I do? Should I try to cancel the order or is it not that bad?

I think it probably has to do with not being fitted properly, the length, and/or the under layer (which could've just been poofed up and needed to be pulled down).

The problem is, the fit isn't going to change from my belly-down, unless I lose weight, because the dress is not being clamped below my bust in the picture, and it's the same size as what was ordered. The underlayer not being pulled down is possible, as is the fact that I was wearing an ill-fitting long bra underneath the dress.

You think it'll be okay, or will the pleats always look that way?

If you are having such concerns about the dress I would call them up and explain to them your concerns and make another appt to try the dress on again. You want to be sure u made the right decision. Good luck.

I have to be honest, I didn't even notice until you said it and I still don't think it looks bad. Don't stress!

Thank you! I'm hoping once it's altered, it'll be okay. So stupid of me to stress, I guess, but it's the most expensive dress I'll ever buy!

honestly i still cant really tell even though u pointed it out. I think its cus many people have tried on the dress, and the wear of it makes the dress not have the same life as it use to have once you take it out of the bag for the first time. Plus ur dress will be altered to your length and steamed and fixed. If you can't sleep at night cus you are thinking about it, deff make another appointment and try on the dress again. Dont be scared because I can barely tell!!! (But i know how it is to overanalyze we are all gonna do it with our dresses one day)

I wouldn't worry about it. I think you're just having buyers remorse. Keep in mind that many people have tried this dress on and it is neither altered nor pressed. Maybe go back and try it on again and explain your concerns. I think they'll probably tell you the same thing. Good luck!

I wouldn't worry about it...sample dresses have all type of issues...I'm sure it will be fine! Also, don't compare a stock photo of the dress, those pics are always altered!

You know what I think the length does that, if it's too long. You weren't in your shoes with it altered properly so I'm sure that will be fixed up.
I didn't notice either the first time until you said it just now so it will be fine but I totally understand it's expensive and shouldn't have anything that bothers you. Definitely ask them about it or go and try it again! They should help out at the store, they really know these things.

Honestly that dress looks AMAZING on you and I agree with the other girls.. I didnt even notice it and still really dont see anything wrong but I totally understand your concern. I think like everyone else said its probably just because its a sample and has been tried on a gazillion times. I wouldnt worry too much about it.. Just relish in the fact that you look STUNNING in your wedding dress!!

It's a beautiful dress and looks great!!! I had to reread what you wrote to see what you were talking about. I agree that the sample dresses have been beat up a little from people trying them on. If you are going to stress it, why not go back in and try it on again.

I didn't notice a thing. I had to look at a few different places on the dress to notice anything, and I'm still not sure if I'm looking at the correct spot lol....don't stress it

I'm sure when it is for the right height and pressed correctly it will lay perfectly. I don't think you have anything to worry about it looks beautiful!
