I am newly engaged, and brand new to the LIW site. Many of my friends have used the help of other brides on here in the past so I am hoping some of you can help me as well :)I look forward to chatting with you! I am starting to look into reception locations and I could really use some recommendations. I am having a bit of a hard time finding places to look into that fit what I would like. Here's what I'm looking for: a beautiful/elegant reception hall, great food, on or near the water (for water views), Long Island preferable, but am not opposed to Queens or Brooklyn, Will need to accomodate appx 200-225 guests, Doesn't break the bank (does that even exist? lol). We are looking into a Spring 2014 wedding and will be having our ceremony in a church, so the RH does not need to have a ceremony space. Thank you all in advance for your help/recommendations. Calling All Brides!

Hi everyone!

I am newly engaged, and brand new to the LIW site. Many of my friends have used the help of other brides on here in the past so I am hoping some of you can help me as well :)I look forward to chatting with you!

I am starting to look into reception locations and I could really use some recommendations. I am having a bit of a hard time finding places to look into that fit what I would like.

Here's what I'm looking for:
a beautiful/elegant reception hall,
great food,
on or near the water (for water views),
Long Island preferable, but am not opposed to Queens or Brooklyn,
Will need to accomodate appx 200-225 guests,
Doesn't break the bank (does that even exist? lol).

We are looking into a Spring 2014 wedding and will be having our ceremony in a church, so the RH does not need to have a ceremony space.

Thank you all in advance for your help/recommendations. This is such an exciting time and I can't wait to hear what you all have to say!!!

The Riviera is amazing and has really great prices, but I'm honestly not sure if you can get 200 in there comfortably.

i had a terrible experience going to chaetau le mer. they told me what time to come see the place and i had 15 minutes to view and ask questions nd get the quote. and called me 4 times asking if i going to book because their prices are going up. ugh horrible experience

Windows on the Lake is nice and reasonably priced. I am getting married there this Dec and I have to say I was given a great price and a lot of extras. The lake is across the street but directlt across the street so there is a water view and it accomodates something like 300 people. The Beach Club their other venue is on the other side of the lake but the view is right on the lake but they are for the smaller weddings like 125 to 150 people. This! of course I'm a bit biased to Land's End. :)

I also checked out Bridgeview Yacht Club, and almost booked there. More reasonable pricng and still beautiful.

Riviera is also really nice and on the water but a bit small for that many people, IMHO.

Bridgeview Yacht Club- I really loved them. I wanted to book there but they did not have my date available. I meet with Kathy she was very helpful.

Venetian Yacht Club- I loved them from the moment I saw the pictures online. I really love it and it's beautiful. The view is amazing. The service is also good. I know I will have a wonderful wedding.

Waterview Club- I liked it; the view is beautiful. Not sure if it's big enough for the amount of people you will have but it's worth visiting. Especially since they do a food tasting during the first visit and the food is good.

The Crescent Beach Club in Bayville!!! It is so beautiful and the food is amazing!

I am not sure you would fit in Riviera or Lombardis on the sound. You might just fit in The Harbor Club in Huntington. All the others mentioned I did see as well and are great.

you can check out crest hollow or Bridgeview Yacht Club they have a nice view there.....
