Choreographed Professional Dance @ Reception
Ok this is what I was thinking. I have always LOVED the song "Kissing You" by Deseree from the Romeo and Juliet movie with Leonardo Dicaprio. I was thinking about making that our song but FH wants something else. So in a compromise between us he said i could use it somewhere else.
I was thinking about hiring professional dancers to choreograph a dance to the song for the reception. I thought it would be special to me, something nice for our guests and a nice surprise for FH. What are your thoughts ladies?

My DH and I had a choregraphed dance at our reception and our guests didn't expect it and they loved it. I say go for it! Good Luck.

Re: Choreographed Professional Dance @ Reception
My friend had professional ballet dancers perform a song at her wedding and EVERYONE was in tears. I thought it was a great idea and wanted to hire dancers to dance to "Kissing You" by Deseree.

Re: Choreographed Professional Dance @ Reception
I just feel with choreographed dances that there's more of a focus on the steps involved and not in savoring the moments between the two people. I've been to weddings with choreographed dances, and 'love' is NOT an emotion oozing out from the couple! JMO.

I think that you are thinking about the bride and groom performing a dance or the entire wedding party. Thats not what I want to do. Instead I have a song that means a lot to me that I want expressed in a dance with professional ballet dancers.
I think I'm going to go for it. It would mean a lot to me and it would mean a lot to my FH since it's going to be a surprise for him.
Thanks ladies for the advice

I'm having Irish Step Dancers at my wedding... but their my students lol (or I might hire from the school where I took lessons).
Are you you looking for students to perform or professional dancers?

That's a BEAUTIFUL song......I definately say go for it...especially if you know ballet dancers to perform it. It's a unique idea and I love it!! I went through phases where I would play that song on repeat!
