I just bought a starter kit at Ulta that has just the face powders and the mineral veil and I am SO impressed. you only need to use a tiny bit to get a flawless soft look. Just wondering if anyone else uses this stuff and what you think about it.

Bare Escentuals

does anyone use this makeup?

I just bought a starter kit at Ulta that has just the face powders and the mineral veil and I am SO impressed. you only need to use a tiny bit to get a flawless soft look.

Just wondering if anyone else uses this stuff and what you think about it.

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used to be the cosmetic manager at Ulta in Patchouge. I would recommend watching the video. It helps a lot. There is also a trick that isn't on the video, put a little minderal veil on first and then your foundation and finish up with the veil. Putting it on first fills and large/open pores and makes it look smoother.

There is also a product by Too Faced Cosmetics, I forget the name, but if you ask at Ulta I know that they will know, it looks like an eyeliner but the liquid inside is clear. You dip it into any color of the Bare Escentuals eye shadows and it makes it like a water proof eyeline and it makes the colors stand out more. It looks awesome and you get to make the most unique colored eye liners ever.

LOVE LOVE LOVE can't even say enough good things about it!

I almost bought the starter kit today! They were having some great sales there. There's also a holiday kit.

Will the sample sizes last a while? It doesn't look like much in any of the pots, and is kind of expensive.

The full sized ones will last almost 6 months except the first time you buy it. It takes some time to get used to but once you are used to it, they last longer. You will not waste as much when you use it correctly.

The starter kit will last two /three months. They are deep pots. Just swirl your brush in it, and tap it off really good on the side of the pot so you don't lose the excess.

It is well worth the money.

thanks for the tips the store in Patchogue is where I bought the kit.

I want to go back over the weekend and get the eye shadows.

the woman who did my makeup for my wedding used mineral makeup (Jane Iredale) and I just loved the flawless softness of the makeup. this stuff seems to be the same quality. now if I could only take some lessons...

The Jane minerals are of much higher quality and about 3-4x the price at least!! However, the ones you purchased are amazing. You should seriously watch the video.

Also, tap a bit of the eye shadow on to the back of your hand with your brush. Use your hand like an artist uses a palette. It works great. The more you blend the minerals the better they look. Be careful not to use too much or it looks cakey. Be careful to moisturize or, again, you will look cakey.

Don't be afraid of radical colors with the minerals that you would otherwise stray from because you can make it soft or dramatic in the minerals.

Anything else that pops up be sure to FM me, I'll give you more mini-lessons

I also just bought it and I LOVE it. It doesn't cover all my breakouts/rosacea but I look 10 times better than without!

I bought the light kit, I'm using the fairly light, and the light seems a tad too dark for me.

Yes it is much better. It covers better and I don't know really how to explain it but they are. However, you can't just get them, as you said, so you will have to either juse Bare Minerals or do some searching and I am not sure that I would trust ebay for this.

update: I watched the DVD last night. it was very helpful. I also went back to Ulta and bought some shadows. I am hooked on this stuff!

i use Youngblood - i bought it at a spa/estethician show in Orlando
Great stuff

i also bought lots of loose eyeshadow powders
it came with liquid eyeliner base, lip gloss base and you just mix them up and apply!

the colors are more saturated

def. recommend them
i also bought a big brush for the base
and i sometimes mix them together too!
