Wedding in 9 days and dress is a mess

This is my 4th fitting and my dress looks terrible. Wrinkles all over the stomach and it keeps falling down. I had 3 seamstresses trying to figure out what this lady has been doing wrong with my dress. Needless to say, I cried in the parking lot and i am freaking out. I have my 5th fitting on monday, and if its not fixed could anyone recommend a really good seamstress? I know its a slim chance I could find someone with only a week away but i might have to try. When I told the receptionist i wanted another seamstress to work on my dress she gave me an attitude. Really??? its MY 2000 dress and im paying these jerks 400 in alterations. I should be able to pick who ever I want to work on my gown! Especially after the 4th attempt from the same woman, and shes just made it worse.

I am SOOO sorry to hear you are having all these problems! I will keep my fingers crossed for you! I know the seamstress that works out of Angel Bridals in East ISLIP on Mainstreet is amazing. Omg that is awful I am so sorry to hear about your dress. Who are you dealing with for alterations? Angel Bridal in east Islip is really good my sister bought a wedding dress final sale which was 28 sizes too big they capped her alterations at like 200 or something like that and they literally rebuilt her dress cause it was that big. It is like two little old italian ladies they know what they are doing.

I have an AMAZING seamstress in Brentwood. She beat Alterations by Gina's pricing and was MUCH nicer, and more thorough. FM for info. Sorry about your dress. I had a similar experience

The girl who is doing my make-up told me when she got married her mother's dress was ruined by whoever was altering it and she went to Dressmaking and Alterations by Marianna in Syosset and she fixed the whole thing in no time. Her phone number is 516-496-4615. We are getting married the same day! Everything will work out!!

Thank you ladies soooo much for the help. My next appointment is monday. i am so torn on whether to take it somewhere else now or give this other seamstress a shot bc she seemed to sound like she knew what to do... but if its not fixed monday, I will take my dress elsewhere. Hopefully someone will be available. Makes me nauseous thinking about it!! And im not talking just little wrinkles in the dress, they are folded over creases all over the stomach. Nothing like sheer panic and anxiety a week before the wedding

SO sorry to hear that you're dealing with this. It sounds like a very similar situation to what happened to my SIL just before her wedding. She purchased the dress and had the alterations done in store, and from the very first alteration, they continually made it worse...

By the time she had nearly given up, there were stains, creases and it was hemmed shorter in the front (you could see her feet) than the back! They told her they couldn't fix the length because they had cut it. At this point, my mother took over and took it to a local seamstress in a dry cleaner. She fixed everything so beautifully, I've never seen my SIL so happy! If I'm not mistaken, she did this all within the week or two before the wedding.

I'm seeing my mother today. I'll ask if she has the name and number of the seamstress and FM you.

Just an update! I was so upset I marched in there on Saturday and demanded to speak with the owner (of course he wasent there, as usual) so i made sure everyone in the lobby heard me explaining my situation (not in a rude way). Then a manager took me into the back room (obviously she didnt want other brides hearing this) and I told her nicely that I am not leaving until another seamstress puts the dress on me and fixes it now. So I had the other seamstress pretty much reconstruct the whole dress. She added lots of boning, putt new cups in, and let out all the seams. So my appointment on monday went much better. I would say im 97% happy with the dress. It still falls down a bit but at least it doesnt look like its someone elses dress. Thank you all again for your kindess and help!!! I dont want my wedding to come bc im going to miss coming on here and talking to your girls!!!
