QOTD for 2/4/03 - How do you sleep?

I'm very curious to hear how others share their beds.

My husband, affectionate as he is while awake, could not sleep with me leaning on him. Yet every movie I see shows the happy couple sleeping intertwined. Is this another example of Hollywood misreprestation, or am I missing out?

Me and frank sleep very intertwind.. i cant fall asleep otherwise.. and i HATE when he faces one way and i face another... can NOT sleep that way at all..

We usually sleep as described in the movies. I dont really know how he sleeps well because if he was laying on me, one whole side of my body would surely be asleep - but i guess it doesnt bother him.

I need my OWN space. Im not a cuddler at all. Hubby loves to snuggle before bed, but if Im tired I just wantto fall asleep on my tummy.

We both love to be spooned. As soon as I fall asleep tho' Roger reclaims his arm, poor guy, I know parts of him go dead, but he will suffer to make his wife happy. He also loves it when I fall asleep on his chest. He also loves to put his legs all over mine. I don't mind it as long as its not done while I am awake, I prefer being on top, I hate feeling like I am suffocating, I know weird right feet suffocating.

We start off cuddled/intertwined. In the middle of the night though we give each other little kisses if someone turns over or something like that or we reach for the other. By the time we wake up though we're facing opposite directions for practical purposes.

We do the snuggle thing, laying on his chest etc before we go to sleep. But then both of us need our space. I am a tosser and turner, plus sleep mostly on my stomach. Sometimes I wake up and see a pillow wall between us because I always roll over and breathe all over DH! It is very funny!

Cuddling until the point where we're falling asleep, then we go our own ways.
But we usually hold hands or he puts his hand under my b*tt. We like to be touching somewhat, but other than that I need my space & I hate to have legs or arms on me ... feels like a ton of bricks.

Usually I'll fall asleep on his chest and then we'll somehow spoon during the night. There are plenty of times though that I'm on my back and he's on his stomach. We don't always stay intertwined throughout the night.

We spoon for a while but then fall asleep facing away from each other. If I turn and he's facing me sometimes I'll hold his hand or he'll put his hand on my back.

We do all of the above. If we become apart during the night, we would be reaching for each other in our sleep. He likes my feet to be intertwined with his, or my legs on him.

Aaaahhh...to be a "newly" newlywed again....LOL! After 20 months of marriage and almost 9 months with a child, it's not really important HOW we sleep...but rather THAT we sleep!

We cuddle BEFORE we go to sleep. Once I am ready to sleep I need my space. Patrick is a very hot person, literally, and I feel too warm if I sleep close to him. Thank goodness for king sized beds!

So wait everyone, what "the movies" sleep ? all intertwined ?? Lets be for real, I dont think anyone can get a good nites sleep that way. For me, it can last no more than an hour. I need my space to sleep. Thats why its "in the movies" ! Yes cuddling and cooing beforehand, but sleep is sleep... (and again, this is a mom talking !) I ditto what Claud said !

Claud, that was too funny! Jenn, like Patrick, Joe radiates enough heat to warm up the whole block and yet, he's all bundled up!! Meanwhile I've got the blankets thrown off and I'm sweating to death! But G/F I turn on the ceiling fan, no can do with my hubby!!

When we first started dating, I wanted to cuddle and spoon and do all those nice romantic things, but not my man!! NOPE, don't touch him when he's sleeping, don't come near him. First of all, he takes friggin forever to get "comfortable" to the point where I feel like I'm on the Titanic. JUST GO TO SLEEP ALREADY!!! Then he's a bed/blanket hog. But now that we're married, guess whose arm is grabbing me in the middle of the night to pull him near him and in the process, squishing me to death? I feel like I'm in a vise!! But I'm glad he's finally become the "cuddler"!!!

This is so funny that this post came up today. My dh and I had a huge fight in the middle of the night last night cause he is ALWAYS ON TOP OF ME!!!! I need to have my space when i sleep and my dh always wants to hold me, kiss me, hug me and so on in the middle of the night. Dont get me wrong, holding each other before sleep is great but Im a whacko sleeper and I also need my sleep. When he wakes me up, I cant function the next day. Needed to vent that out!

We both like our space when we sleep. Of course now I sleep with 2 men more often than not.




I meant that the baby sleeps in the bed alot. I gladly give up some of my space for my little man. I love cuddling with him. (But we are transitioning him into the crib...)

I told my dh to come on here and read these replies! He says im the only woman like that and other woman would love for a guy to sleep like that with them...im like honey do not flatter yourself!!!!!!!

We don't even touch each other when we sleep. Lately it's like every time one of us rolls over, the blanket goes with us. That blanket must move back and forth all night. Sometimes if too much falls to one side, the dog comes over and lies on top of it on the floor. Then the person with the dog on his/her side has all the covers and the other has about an inch. It used to be me that hogged all the covers. I managed to break the habit, now DH seems to do it!

He is a very light sleeper. I am a very heavy sleeper. I toss and turn a lot and constantly wake him up. Then he can't get back to sleep. We're more used to each other's sleeping habits now than when we first started living together all the time.
