ballgown style bridesmaid dresses

My bridesmaids are all thin but they range from 5'0" to 5'10". Would a ballgown style dress look weird on some of them? Here is the link: bridesmaid dress

It is the gold one- style 3SCC03 with the halter straps. Also, is this a weird color on certain types of skin?

Most of them live in VA or FL so I can't have them try it on before I order it.

Re: ballgown style bridesmaid dresses

Its good that it isn't long waisted - with a standard waist there is a better chance that the dress will work on the shorter gals as well as the taller ones. Can you do a search at any other site and find something that is similar for them to try? Maybe there are stores near them that carry the dress? Also, maybe see if the manufacturer will give you a swatch (even if you have to pay a little). The color may be tricky on some skin tones, but I think it would work as a universal color.

yes- that's the one. i am just worried that it may look odd on some of the girls. and i want them to be happy with it. i sent them the picture but they are all being too nice and saying that they like it bc they know i want this one.

No dress is going to be perfect on everyone. I think that this is a safe choice, and that if you love it, thats enough!

Wow that dress is gorgeous, its not too poofy that it may not flatter someone at least from the way it looks in the picutre here, i think it would be fine, go for it!

Re: ballgown style bridesmaid dresses

check the designer website for the reatilers that sell the dress in the area your bm live and have them try it on and sneak a camera for a pic to send you. and then you will know. most likely the stores will carry that color b/c it is the color featured in the pic. i found that the stores carried the color featured in the pics in magazines, etc.
GOOD LUCK

Hey - I'm six foot and i'm in my cousins bm party. All the rest of my cousins are 5'2" - we picked a dress very similar in style and it looks pretty on everyone. NEVER FORGET THE POWER OF HEELS!

Re: ballgown style bridesmaid dresses

I would be careful with the light gold color. I know that it can make some women (like myself) looked very washed out if they have dark hair and naturally light skin.

It really depends on the person though, I think the color is very pretty otherwise.

Re: ballgown style bridesmaid dresses

Yes- I think I am going to have them see if a store by them has this dress so they can try it on. Now I am starting to look for a necklace for them to wear- and earrings. Any suggestions?
