Making Maid of Honor look different.

Hi everyone. I was wondering if any of you were having your maid of honor wear the same dress/color as everyone else and if so, how did you make her stand out? I've suggested different colored jewelry than everyone else, different colored flowers and possibly even different colored shoes but was wondering if anyone else had any other suggestions. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Making Maid of Honor look different.

I am doing separates dresses. the Bms are all dogwood, with an ivory flower around the waist. The MOH is dogwood bottom, ivory top, dogwood flower arond the waist. a slightly different B-K too

this is the dress (not the yellow bottom though)

Re: Making Maid of Honor look different.

My b'friend gave me t-roses in my bo-k
but the problem was that I think that you only noticed if you were close enough to the bo-k
I would love anyone's suggestions also.
If yo uused bigger flowers to make her stand out, t-roses are sooo tiny then it would look different

Re: Making Maid of Honor look different.

My sister was the Maid of Honor in my wedding and we had her dress strapless whereas the other bridesmaids were in spaghetti straps. Also, my sisters bouquet was larger and more matched with mine. Attached is a photo - my sister is on the left. It's small though =sorry!

Re: Making Maid of Honor look different.

The only problem with the dress is that I think it would look funny strapless. It's got a kind of cording on the top- it's hard to explain but it's really pretty! I thought about maybe getting her a different shawl or something but I don't know how it would look. Thanks for all of your replies so far!

My sister (MOH) is wearing the same dress as the BMs but her dress is strapless, everyone has spagetti straps and she will also have a different boo-k.

my MOH is wearing different dress (same color) as the other girls. her bo-k will be slightly bigger and she will have a silver ribbon on her flower stems, the other girls will have blue. probably i will do some kind of different jewlery as well. i'm not sure yet. i was going to do earrings for her, but she doesn't have peirced ears.

My MOH will be wearing a different color...she picked the style of her dress which is turning out to be different from the separates that the maids are picking!

Re: Making Maid of Honor look different.

My girls are all wearing black, but my MOH is wearing a tuxedo dress, and her bo-k will have pastel flowers with a dark purple iris in the middle, whereas the other girls will have bold colors with a pastel lily in the middle. Also, her jewlery is a bit different......and she is the tallest

I was MOH in a wedding in may. I wore the same dress. My Bo'k was slightly larger and had an additional sheer ribbon tying the stems. Also I wore white flowers in my hair.

Re: Making Maid of Honor look different.

My MOH is very aggressive about wanting to be different. So her dress will be the same colr different style, she will have a little train behind hers. A bigger, maybe different, bouquet.

My moh wore the same dress but I had a different bouquet for her....red roses with green lemon leaves while the others had yellow (more goldish color) roses with lemon leaves. My bouquet was a mixture of both and it looked very nice.

Re: Making Maid of Honor look different.

My MOH is wearing the same colors as the rest of the BMs (blue and lilac: the dresses are a double sided taffeta), but she is wearing a different dress style.

So, my MOH is wearing this dress (but in the blue/lilac color):

And the rest of my BMs are wearing this dress (but in the blue/lilac color)

My MOH will wear a different dress (same color and material) and will have a larger bouquet than the other BMs(opposite of mine color wise and smaller version of mine)

Re: Making Maid of Honor look different.

I think it depends on the size of your party. My sis had 4 girls, I was her MOH, I think my bo-K was either larger and/or had dif flowers. I think mine had some roses and white flower, the other girls also had just white flowers.

I am only having 2 girls, so I do anything different, who could tell. The other one has nothing to match.

The MOH is next the the bride in most pics so that helps too.

Re: Making Maid of Honor look different.

I had her floral arrangement bigger in size and different in color. I also gave her 2 gifts: a personalized jewelry box with her name on it and a her birthstone color necklace. Otherwise, no her dress is the same as my BM's--same color, same style, same manufacterer. The all wear different shoes but the color must be champagne or gold. My Jr. BM was the only different in her gown and shoes as she was in ivory.

I had my MOH wear a tiara and she had different flowers in her bouquet. The bridesmaids had sunflowers and berries, she had the same but with calla lillies, too.

Here is a picture where you can see her tiara.
