fall nail color

What colors is everyone using on their nails? I am always having a hard time making a decision at the nail salon. I think the color I picked this time around is too dark.

This may not help you because it's pretty dark, but I'm wearing Fine Red Wine, and I love it.

My all time favorite fall color is Swing Velvet.

I love deep colors, so I'm SO glad fall is here!

I never get my nails done, and hardly ever wear nail polish. For some reason, I can never seem to prevent the polish from chipping at the tips, and there's nothing I hate more than chipped nail polish!

Yes, I will admit it...... I have never had a professional manicure. (GASP).

Does the polish stay on better when you get it done professionally??

I tend to keep my fingernails bare, but go all out with my toes. Toes don't chip as easily.

Karen - I never used to get my nails done, but started right before the wedding and cant do without it now. I am a huge nail biter. I never find a problem with chipping. I go every two weeks.

Maybe I'll give it a try, then. While it's nice not to have to worry about nail polish, sometimes I miss getting to play with the seasonal colors!

I used to LOVE getting my nails done...but, once I became a Mom, it did not make sense anymore...with all the diaper changes, wiping up spills, etc...nail polish doesn't have a chance in he11! However, I still like my occasional pedicures!

Jenn - I LOVE Swing Velvet, too! There's also a really deep purple color that I LOVE, but I cannot remember the name

I have Essie's Chocolate Kisses on my nails right now...I like *really* dark colors.

Right now I am wearing Bordeaux-it's a dark wine red

I used to get my nails done.. but I found I'd have to go home and put on an extra layer of clear cover to keep them from chipping.

I got annoyed with spending money every 2 weeks on my nails. I do them at home now. That way I at least have the same bottle for any touchups. I can also change color if we have a meeting or something that my color won't go well with.

I love dark deep colors. I use revlon's Chocolate Cherry.

I switch off with a really light color. Snowflake. Very light pink.

Otherwise I love a french manicure.

Went for Gels and now Im letting my poor nails recoup from that.

Karen...usually if you get tips...the nail polish will not chip at all...


but on natural nails it tends to...I try to bring my own nail polish...then I have the color if I need to touch up...otherwise...a coat of clear polish EVERY night...wards off most of the chips

Yabbo, I never have tips. Maybe that's the problem? My nails grow very fast and are usually naturally pretty long. I also have long nail beds (if that makes sense), so they look longer than they really are.

I think if I had to touch up chips, and put a clear coat on every night, I'd rather do without! It's the high maintenance that keeps me away from polish to begin with.

Oh well.

I'll stick to having polished toes for now!

I love Essie's Prudence and the Prune. I think that is what I will switch to for November.

I have on Port...its a dark red. It looked more burgundy in the bottle though
