Who is having chocolate wedding cake?
Anyone having chocolate icing as well? I know wedding cake - supposed to be white, but neither of us like buttercream or whipped cream, etc.
Duh - just noticed I typo'd in the subject!!

We are having a chocolate cake. I dislike bakery cake so very much, but chocolate cake, i think taste more like reg. cake. I am not too crazy about buttercream or bakery whipcream and neither is he..our biggest obstacle will be trying not to make a face when we eat it

It's your wedding! Do what you want! I've seen pics of all chocolate cakes! I'm doing the grooms cake in chocolate for him...he loves it, I don't really like it

This is one of the few decisions I've made so far - I am a certified chocoholic, and chocolate cake is not enough, it HAS to have chocolate frosting too!
I haven't seen any good pics of cakes with chocolate frosting, though. Does anyone have any?

I had an ALL chocolate wedding cake- choc cake w/choc chips, choc pudding filling, choc icing w/choc tiles...can you tell I'm a chocoholic?
It was awesome and all my guests loved it. Go for it!

There's no such thing as "supposed to have" anymore. FH and I are doing an autumn theme and are having a chocolate ganache cake with chocolate leaves on it. A few girls from the 04 boards have asked for a pic, I have a tear-out from a magazine (can't remember which one). I'm trying to locate a pic from the web (my scanner is not hooked up)....

I think that that is a great idea to have a chocolate cake with white glaze or frosting.
We may be having 2 cakes too..the one that the hall is making and a fruitcake - it's tradition in Ireland to have one. FH actaully doesn't want one but his dad wants to bring it over. I said if his dad is paying for it I don't mind. We can cut both and have the hall cut slices of both and people can choose.

I absolutely detest chocolate BUT I LOVE the LOOK of a chocolate fondant (or iced) wedding cake....so as of now, we're having one.

i would love to have a chocolate wedding cake - but i don't think my mother would be too pleased - she's a traditionalist....and i'm already nt getting married in a church, so a cholocate cake is out of the question!!!

We had a chocolate cake. The outside was white but the inside was chocolate with chocolate mousse....IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!

I had a chocolate wedding cake...and my dad made a face and said that wedding cakes are supposed to be white (color)...
so I used white chocolate rolls...

we had one by accident. The baker made a mistake. I wanted Vanilla but got chocolate. it was disappointing and untraditional and I didn't think it looked that nice, but oh well- guests still said it was nice. I was sooo disappointed but didn't want to upset my in-laws, who ordered it for us. The baker gave some lame excuse about how we called so much to confirm that they got confused.

I agree with it being more fresh. All the wedding cakes I've tasted that were vanilla I never liked. The chocolate was so moist and creamy, I personally was shocked (happily that is )
