Photographer Vent
About a week and a half ago, FI and I went to meet with our photographer on a Tuesday evening around 8:00pm. We waited a half hour and he never showed. Of course we got the typical "he never does this" and "he is very responsible and has never done anything like this". I was still pretty annoyed, and they added 10 pictures to our photo album.
The next day he calls and sorta apologizes. I say I want to meet again, but this time on a weekend. During the week it is alot to drive out to LI from Queens. With traffic, it can take an hour. So he agree to meet us this morning at 11:00am.
We arrive on time. They bring us to a room, and the girl tells us that he should be there soon. Okay, I took a deep breathe. "Not again". We wait 15 minutes and a lady comes in and asks us if we are being help. We say "We dont Know". The original girl comes back and tells us he will be here any minute.
While we are waiting, they gave us pictures that he took of someones wedding. He only took one photo of the bride going up the aisle, missed some of the bridesmaids going up the aisle, took maybe a dozen or so shots of people dancing. UGHH!!
He finally arrives. He has on jeans, and a hooded sweatshirt and looks as though he just got out of bed. Basically he looks hungover and HE IS 20 MINUTES LATE!!!!
The guy introduced himself to us and says "and your names are?" Hello, you are our photographer you should at least know our names!!! It was a disaster...towards the end I said something about his assistant coming with him..."I work alone". YOu have got to be kidding me, for that kind of money you had better have an assistant, because he/she will probably taking my pictures because you may never show up.
It was like he had a gun to his head. It was just hard to watch.
FI and I left. FI asked what I thought. I told him there is no way that guy is going to be our photographer. The most ridiculous thing I have ever experienced adn I havent even described half of the meeting.
I called the studio and left a messege for the manager to call me. There is no way this guy is taking our picture. First, he may not even show up, and if he does he will probably show up after the ceremony. The guy has no personality!!!!!!!!!!
I am so angry!!!!! How could they possibly expect someone to spend that kind of money on this guy!!!!!
Just needed to vent. I've been annoyed all day by this. I did not achieve any of the things on my list today!!! So annoyed!!!!

Aww.. that stinks!!! The photographer is one of the most important things on your day. Your pictures are what you will have for memories.. If you are not happy do not let anything or anyone hold you back from getting a new photographer. My friend recently go tmarried and she used Photos by Verdi. They are amazing, and I have heard only good things about them. I would call them SOON!! THat would make me so mad about if he didn't even know my name.. UGGHHH!! I am mad for you. Well, it's good that you found about him earlier, then after the wedding. Good luck girl!!!

Wow!! I can't believe it (especially after just looking at who your photography company is). From looking at the boards I thought this company was more professional...I would definitely speak to the manager about this guy and see if you could get a different photographer because this one needs to get his priorities straight. I hope everything works out for you...

Most vendors get good and bad reviews...you can't please everyone 100% of the time. But, it is not too late for you to find another photographer if you are not happy with their service thus far.
But, I have to say in fairness to the photographer - I'm sure he deals with TONS of brides and grooms (considering the volume that studio does), and I think it's unrealistic to expect that he would know your names already....JMO...that's not to say it wouldn't be a good business practice, but he is not the studio owner - he is a photographer who works for that studio.

maybe you can switch photographers? id be worried if that happened to me...
when we had a meeting with our photographer he knew our names and greated us when we arrived, we also had the last appointment for the day and were running a half hour late in traffic and he waited for us!
