Long Island Reception Halls

I'm looking to have a Saturday night Oct/Nov 04 wedding in Long Island but I'm not familiar with the area. I prefer Nassau County but will look in Suffolk as well. I was hoping to stay within a $75-$100pp price range. Any suggestions for a reception hall?

Re: Long Island Reception Halls

Hi and welcome to the boards!!

I believe that the Riviera in Massapequa charges $95pp for a Saturday night with a 150 guarantee. (However, the place is not huge, so if your guest list will be 175 or more, you may want to look elsewhere.) It's not your typical catering hall - it has a warm, charming appeal to it with more of a medieval/rustic feel. (Brick walls, dark wood, etc.)

Good luck in your search! (If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.)

Re: Long Island Reception Halls

I got married at "fifteenth and west" - which is a large catering room with a beautiful cocktail room and fireplace within the nassau county bar association. It is not well known, because they are not allowed to advertise and do most of their catering business through word of mouth, which is how I found out about it. They used to have Philip Stone caterers as their permanent caterer, but I heard that changed recently. I don't know what the website or number is since the caterer changed, but try 516-739-2217. The price was reasonable and it was a very classy place. Good luck!

Re: Long Island Reception Halls

Westbury Manor was beautiful, but I don't know what their pricing is around for Sat. night. I know it would have been $86 (without gratuity and tax) for a Friday night in October. Too expensive for me.

The only other place I came close to booking was the Stewart Manor Country Club. It was pretty, and they only do one wedding, so the place is yours, and the room's pretty big. My problem was that I didn't think they offered a lot of food for cocktail hour, but their price was low to start with, so it'd only be $1.50 more a person each to add on other things. That is in Garden City, I think. It's right by New Hyde Park.

Re: Long Island Reception Halls

I don't know if you're range is including tax and grat, some below will cover, but others won't.

Woodbury Country Club
Cresthollow Country Club
Fox Hollow
North Ritz Club
Chateu Briand
Westbury Manor
Cottage Inn
Coral House
Swan Club
The Sterling
Captain Bill's (Suffolk, Bay Shore)

Carlyle on the Green is much more then $100 on Saturday night;

Riveria is in the price range, however, IMO I think is too small for 150 people.

We are having our reception at the Westbury Manor. I have heard nothing but excellent things about them and they give you a lot for your money. I think they should be in your price range.
Worth a visit. Try any of the Scotto bros. Properties. All good. www.scottobros.com
