This board needs a little action....name a book you feel has..
changed your outlook on life or your perspective on things.
For me, it was "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac. I read it as a senior in HS and helped me to discover there was a great big world out there beyond my little shell. 
There have been more, but that one sticks out...

The Celestine Prophesy. Not that I believed all the author wrote, but some of the stuff about how to interact with people and things around us made sense.

Our Town (its actually a play) by Thorton Wilder. I read it in 9th grade and was hooked. It teaches you to appreciate the little things about everyday life because one day you won't have them anymore. It still makes me cry every time I read it.

A Prayer for Owen Meany. It opened my eyes to the mysteries and intricacies that can dwell within a person.
Jitterbug Perfume. Introduced me to rythmic language and verse in fiction storytelling.

To Kill a Mockingbird changed my whole perspective. I learned how to stand up for what you believe in even though the odds are against you.

i thought of another one - Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller. Well its actually a play, but it made me open my eyes and see that life is what you make of it!
