Looking for a good home telephone plan
FH nad I have been using Verizon, and we're fine with them, but we pay about 70 per month and we don't even have call waiting! And we make maybe one long distance call per month. So clearly we are doing something wrong. Can anyone recommend a good local service home provider?

Re: Looking for a good home telephone plan
MCI and Sprint both have unlimited nationwide plans for around $50 per month. Cablevision is also rolling out the same type of plan but you don't have to pay all of those taxes since they are NOT a phone company. it isn't in my area yet though. Oh, the above plans have call waiting, v/m, 3-way calling and caller ID all included.

Re: Looking for a good home telephone plan
We are paying 45 a month..for unlimited long distance, unlimited local and toll calls , plus caller Id, call waiting, etc. Just one payment 45 a month. We first had them for 3cents a minute long distance only, but now they have grown and gave us the option for local as well. We are VERY happy with them. I know they are only going local to a few stataes right now..NJ is one of them, not sure about NY, but worth checking into. We have had them for a bout a yera long distnace wise ands have never had any problems. www.kissld.com check it out!!

Re: Looking for a good home telephone plan
I hate VERIZON we switched to AT & T and got the same exact service for 20 dollars a month less.

Re: Looking for a good home telephone plan
I've got MCI pay $49.99 with taxes comes to around $60. Voicemail, 3-way, caller id, call waiting. Unlimited long distance, local and regional. We make a lot of long distance so this was a great plan for us.

Re: Looking for a good home telephone plan
I use vonage. ITs a new company where your phone works through you cable modem. It's only 29.99 for us a month, with unlimited regional calling and 500 long distance (entire US and Canada) and have never gone over. There is a unlimited mins all calls for I think 39.99. The only thing is you have to buy some router and cable to hook it up, but it wasn't too much and is totally worth it.
vonage website
ETA it includes caller ID, free voice mail, call waiting.. def worth checking out...
