Yup, we're doing the bread, salt, wine blessing and FH said his relatives wil teach mine how to sing Sto Lat.

FH hasn't asked for much but he asked for the bread, salt, wine blessing and when I said "oh course", he was stunned that I agreed so easily. I told him I wanted it too, but I also want to dance the tarantella.

Italian/Polish seems to be a good combination. I have been hearing of it more and more.

dh is italian and i'm polish - it seems to be working out i see more and more couples that are italian and polish so funny

The Bread and Salt Blessing

The sharing of the bread and salt is an old Polish tradition. At the wedding reception, the parents of the bride and groom greet the newly married couple with bread, which is lightly sprinkled with salt and a goblet of wine.

With the bread, the parents are hoping that their children will never hunger of be in need. With the salt, they are reminding the couple that their life may be difficult at times, and they must learn to cope with life's struggles.

The parents then kiss the newly married couple as a sign of welcome, unity, and love.

Re: Polish Brides

Hi All Polish brides. I am half polish, my mother & her entire family were born there. I had a question for you all. I would love to play a few polish songs at my reception. Polka's included. Can you recommend a few? I would love to surprise my mother.

TIA!
