Melissa, there are so many things to consider! Safety, your lifesyle, etc. I highly recommend the Baby Bargains book - it was sooo helpful to me! Also, I read the reviews on amazon, and spoke to other Moms. Also, you should go to the store and test everything! Pick up the carseat, fold up and lift the stroller, etc...it's all so much fun even if it seems a little stressful and overwhelming in the beginning!! I'm sure we'd all be happy to give you some reccomendations!!
