Honeymoon dilemma

I need to find out some information on Honeymoons. We are getting married in August of next summer, and are confused about where to go for the honeymoon. We originally were thinking Hawaii, but now maybe are thinking about Sandals Antigua. We want to go for almost two weeks, and we want total beaches and relaxation. I know the Carribean has its hurricane season in August!! If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, that would be wonderful!!

I Hear Aruba is nice, and it's not in the hurricane path. We are going to Sandals Antigua at the end of this month for our honeymoon. Last year we went to Hawaii. Hawaii is nice because you can do a little of both (relax and be adventerous), depending on what island you stay at. 2 weeks at Sandals could get boring, but who knows. We are more of adventure people and I know we would feel trapped on one little island. Good Luck!

Aruba is beautful!! It's perfect for a honeymoon. I highly reccommend it. I would go back there for my honeymon but my honey wants to take a cruise. Aruba is awesome!!!! It was even nicer when it rained.:)

Hey,

Just a thought. Cant a couple get vacation insurance through the travel agency? Incase of bad weather or a personal emergency?

Figured its a question worth asking here :)

HI!! We are taking a 10 day cruise (Renaissance) in Tahiti. It goes to 5 islands and you spend at least 1-2 days on each island. The boat is beautiful and new (99). We looked into a land package for Tahiti or Hawaii and found that the food is really pricey. So the cruise includes the food and air fare from LA to Tahiti. It is worth a shot. If you need a travel agent let me know. My good friend booked my trip.

Again, I would just caution brides that if they are looking for a nice bouquet (for me I felt that the photo and video was what I was going to pay a premium for and tighten my budget with the flowers) going expensive is not the only way to do it. Local florist can also make some beautiful bouquets for less than 1/2 the cost. For example, I live in Massapequa and I went to Flowers by Edward. The owner, Laurie, spent about 1 1/2 hour with me, and she was totally focused on my ideas and also offered me some of her opinions. She was a good listener and didn't try to oversell me. She was willing to work within my budget and showed me ways that I could save money by doing other types of creative things (such as candles, or flowers petals on speciality tables instead of roses vases). I felt our meeting was very productive, right to the point and left feeling like my needs were totally met.

What is the weather like in Tahiti in November? About how much does something like that cost? It sounds really exciting. We have 2 weeks off also and tare really struggling to find something that won't bore us.

Try the Botanical Garden in Flushing Meadow Park if its not too out of the way. Its beautiful. There's an area where I've seen ceremonies performed, they have a gazebo and a footbridge plus the beautiful flowers. Good luck!

The weather in Tahiti in November is about 80-85. It is really their summer so it is warm and you might have a short shower here or there. I checked with a friend of the family who went there in Nov and it rained one day out of 10. She loved the cruise and said it was the way to go. Check out www.renaissancecruises.com. You can look at the boat, itineraries etc. We got a suite at $3000 per person - they were running a special so I am not sure what the prices are like know. You can also call them 800-730-4504. They are very pleasant and helpful. I thought the price might be a little high but it is airfare from LA-Tahiti and back to LA, all food, accommodations and you get to see 5 islands for 10 days. The cruise winds up being almost 11 or 12 depending on when you fly out. The food on the islands are very expensive ($15 for a beer)so a land package was out of our price range. We thought we could go to the Caribbean anytime it is our honeymoon lets splurge!! If you have any other questions let me know!!!

Please, be my guest!

I'm not sure what the weather is like in Costa Rica in August, but I hear it is beautiful and it has plenty of activities (volcanos, jungles, etc.)

Kate, having a spread of all your wedding party attendants is a GREAT idea! I'll be sure to do that, too!!!
