Re: What are u girls planning on doing

I think some people preserve it because sometimes daughters/ granddaughters like to wear the dress for their wedding. My aunt wore my grandmas dress and my cousin also wore it. My sister almost wore my moms but my mom was way too skinny and my sister couldnt fit into it! I wanted My own dress..but some like to wear others. I think also people preserve them because its such a special day, and if the dress isnt presrved..it turns some kind of ugly yellow.
Im nbot sure if I will prserve mine or not.

Re: What are u girls planning on doing

When I made my communion, one of my best friends wore her communion dress made from her grandmother's wedding dress. I remember thinking at the time how special that was!!!!

jen n dale..thats a GREAT idea too!! That may be even a better idea for me because my dress has alot of beading on it..wouldnt be appropriate for a boys christening..but would be stunning for a first communion dress. Wow..I never even thought of these ideas!!! You guys are great on here!!!

With the extra material if there is enough I am going to make a pillow for my baby and pass it down , to take formal pics of them with it. My sister is going to use the pillow also for her kids when she has them and the dress will be preserved for my duaghter-relative who wants to wear it.

I don't want to clean it neither did my mom or aunts. And to tell you the truth - I love the fact that my aunt's dress has her Cherry Jubilee on it and my mom has her chocolate mousse desert still there. It makes them relive the day

Re: What are u girls planning on doing

The woman who is making my cape is doing it for me...Her email address is Vendite1350@AOL.COM.

Aliciahelene~I asked her if she could do it, she said no problem, and she would work up the prices for me.

Re: What are u girls planning on doing

I plan on wearing it twice (once here and once for a ceremony in FH's native Poland) and then I will preserve it in the hopes that some offspring of mine may want to wear it.

Re: What are u girls planning on doing

I think I will probably doante mine. I can still use the train or extra fabric t make christening outfits, but the dress itself I think i am going to donate. I love it to much to see it sit in the closet for the next 20 ears. I wnat someone to wear it and love it as much as I do. I got this address from Shamma. I think she is doing the same thing. I preserved mine....if any of my children want to use it one day, I will open it. Otherwise, not sure when or why else I would open it.
