FI loves all the Tom Clancy novels. everytime we go away he brings one of those!
what about the Harry Potter series? we found the first 4 Harry Potter books in paperback and have ordered them for the HM.

My DH loves Nelson DeMille books. Plum Island takes place on LI. The Generals Daughter, Up Country, The Lions Game and Gold Coast were good too!

FH doesn't read anything that's not technical - it's freaky!
But I love Nelson DeMille books - I would second that recommendation. "Plum Island" & "Gold Coast" were 2 of my favorites.

My FH's favorite books are The Hunt for Red October and All Quiet On the Western Front.... ZZZZZzzzz in my opinion! Those are definitely "guys" books.

FIL recommended the Paris Operation to DH. Something about computers that can think and a mystery/who done it kind of feel. Supposedly he loved it. Now if DH would just stop reading text books and pick up a novel every now and then.... (hehe)

For novel reading my FH loved "Charming Billy" by Alice McDermott. He gave it to me to read and I also loved it.
