My furniture story UPDATED!!

The original post is below, if you're interested in it...just to let you know the update:

DH and I went into the story after being promised it would take one more week to deliver, but not the case again (shocker!). We received a refund, including the delivery charges and tax.

One day later, we get a call from the store saying that the curio is in and when do we want it delivered. We were like HUH??? So we said screw it, deliver it on Sat.

Saturday comes and goes and NO CURIO!!

My DH calls our credit card co. and find out that they also didn't credit his acct. and 1 1/2 weeks went by, so we are in the process of disputing the charge!!! Can you believe this!!!!!

It is Carlisle furniture on Glen Cove Rd. in Carle Place - DON'T GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well in about 10 min. I'm off to the furniture store where we bought a coffee table, end tables and a new curio (my birthday present)...

To make a long story short, we bought them back in April, items were delivered 10 days later, but the curio was damaged. We were given the option of repairing the damage or getting a new one (both would take the same amt of time), so we opted for new...

WE STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT!!!!!!!!! We call every week, and are told "oh, it should be there the end of next week"...never comes. I ask to speak to a manager, and every other time they tell me "oh, he's not here right now, can he call you back" I say "yes", and they NEVER DO!!!!!

So what do I say to these incompetents??? I'm leaving soon to go there and I'm telling them that if we don't have it by Mon. I want our freakin' deposit back, but I want to say even more.......

By the way - this is Carlysle furniture on Glen Cove Road in Carle Place (next to Pier 1)...

I like to always add,,,,what type of customer services it that, if you deliver damaged items, adn cannot hold-up toy our word and on top of that return telephone calls.

Face to face makes a lot more effective.

Stand tall, be assertive!!!!

You can do it!!!

I would threaten them that you will call the BBB and have Problem Solvers on their butts in no time! Hey - you tried to resolve it in a civil fashion but when worse came to worst.. you gotta do what ya gotta do!

Causing a scene where other customers will think twice about purchasing from them is ALWAYS a good thing. If you don't get satisfaction today I would go back on a Saturday when they are really busy and make sure every potential customer in that store know what they are trying to pull!

Seriously take no $hit from them, demand an answer, be nice for the first minute, if they play with you, then get a little nasty & demand an answer, mention BBB & all that

I work for a furniture store and I agree that the best way to deal with it is to go to the store. They will just keep putting you off on the phone. When an angry customer walks in and other customers can see this they will usually bend over backwards and try to solve your problem as quickly as possible for fear of losing other customers!!

I do have to say that a lot of the times when items are delayed its not the fault of the store. It can be either a manufacturer or shipping problem, especially if its an import (I think there is some sort of strike with some of the import shippers right now, at least that is what we were told). But, there is NO reason they should be avoiding you!

We went in there once and my husband had an argument with a salesperson there. He gave us an attitude when we asked if they had any sleigh bed.

Well I think that may be the only way t this point that you will actually GET your goods! I was a retail store manager a few yrs back and granted.. being nice was always the best approach, but if that doesn't work, then oyu have to resort to the threats! Did you as for like a district manager's name and number? If it's the owners you are dealing with, go straight to the nastiness at this point and threat threat threat away! I'm terrible!

I am sooo sorry you are going through this. The owner of that store is a customer of my husband. He starts telling Enzo that he owns a furniture store and stuff, well Enzo tells him that we are looking for a new bedroom set and so on. When the guy tells him he owns that furniture place to come in he'll hook us up, Enzo just looks at him and laughs., he just wanted to tell this guy off about how rude they were when we went in. I can't stand that place.

I'm so glad you didn't wind up buying from them Kathy!

Well the situation is over...Our cc company told us that the charge has been taken off our acct and to no longer contact the company - they will take care of the dispute.

Oh, and one more shady part of the story...the receipt printout from the refund doesn't even say Carlisle furniture...it says "All Island Furniture"........hmmmmmmmmmm....
