Am I reading too much into this? Please be honest>.

I received a contract from a vendor today..its for ceremony music, most places that I contacted send me a nice demo CD and a nice contract, this vendor today sent an old cassette tape( It still sounded good though), and the contract didnt include everything that we had talked about and there were so many misspelled words...am I being too picky? I know on here I always misspell words, but Im typing in a hurry, if I wsa going to send out a professional letter, I would make darn sure my words were spelled correctly, She even misssplled one of the songs//I cant figure out why Im very turned off by this..all that matters is that they sound good, right? I think in my mind, Im thinking if they are this unproffessional now, how would tehy be my wedding day. And why do i care that she sent a tape and not a CD..who cares..but for some reason I do. I may just be looking for things rong..I tend to do that..any advice? Dont worry about hurting my feelings..I can take it!!

It would turn me off too. Sorry, I don't really have any advice...but if you're hiring a professional, you expect professionalism. If what you saw wasn't professionalism, then you probably know the answer to your questions already...

I would be bothered by the spelling errors, but then again, I work in book publishing...

i have a big problem with misspelled words on contracts!!!!!! it shows a lack of professionalism and would definitely bother me too!!! yes - he/she might play well - but if they can't take the time to spell one of my songs right, it just shows a lack of courtesy.

you say you might be looking for things that are wrong. are you having other doubts about this vendor????

It would bother me too if things were spelled incorrectly but what would bother me the most is that she did not include things in the contract that you spoke about. If I were you I would call her and tell her that you would like those things included in the contract...so then when the wedding comes she cannot say you never spoke about those things.....then when she resends the contract maybe she will realize all of the spelling errors and correct them

My doubt about this vendor was also that her personality was alittle strange..but I know that doesnt matter..Im not going to be best friends with her..she just struck me a odd. Their price is awesome..so maybe thats why Im looking for things wrong.

If it were me, I wouldn't go with them. They may be great, but they need to take the time to create an air of professionalism and they haven't. There is no excuse for misspelled words. That's why we have spell checkers!

And they most certainly should have included everything you discussed in your contract.

Of course, it's your call. If you are uncomfortable, don't go with them. If you are okay with it, then go for it!

I would be turned off. Being careless is one of my peeves. I am constantly editing copy and I read through 24+ pages a day of copy. So for someone to misspell a one-page letter or contract is unacceptable to me.

GO WITH YOUR GUT. I feel that is someone doesn't pay attention to the details of your contract, then I wouldn't trust them with the details of my wedding day. JMO! Good luck!

ok..I think I cant go with them..I just needed to hear it..I tend to be quite anal when planning this wedding..I didnt think I would be, but I cant help it..I want everything to be as great as it can be..so I tend to look for things..this contract wasnt even typed..it was all hand written, very sloppily!! Im going to call her and tell her I am not interested! Thanks everyone for your very good advice..lI know I can overreact sometimes...so thanks for your time responding..it reassured me..

I would definitly call them and tell them you want them to redo the contract including everything that you are supposed to have in it. Mention to them the spelling errors too.

Thanks everyone for your responses..I am just not going to use them..they had a great price..but I still have a few leads who are at a great price..if those dont work out..I dont mind paying a little more for professionalism...I wish I knew how to put that contract on here..it looks like a child in kindergarten wrote it..almost like a joke..oh well..all of your helpful advice was great..just reconfirmed what I though..so again..thanks for taking the time to respond!!
