I'm back and we're married - review

I really have to saw I had an absolute ball – I was relaxed and enjoyed every minute.
I was slightly stressed a couple of days before, but my MOH (the doll) put me on “couch, remote control and wine” rest for the afterneen!! And it worked perfectly.

Rehearsal dinner - catered by Felico’s Caterers in Farmingdale - outstanding
We used the party room in my building, the caterers did everything – they brought linens, china, wineglasses and all the food. Two waitresses did everything – from set up to clean up. I was a little concerned when we were getting ready that maybe we should have gone to a restaurant, but I was completely wrong. The whole thing was relaxed and casual, and the food was outstanding. Everyone got to mingle, and meet. I don’t know how we did it but we pulled it off perfectly. Most of the guests left around 9.00 is (early I thought) and the core group ended up keeping the party going till almost 12 midnight.

The Grooms cake was awesome - I have no way of scanning int, but will try to.

Jennifer from Fairytale – a very very talented lady A++
I loved my hair and make up (including my false eyelashes). She is awesome to work with. I know she’s hard to get in touch with, but she is worth waiting for.

Lillette’s Bridal Shop – B
I worked with Geri and she was awesome, I loved my dress, but my bustle fell down after the first dance. I didn’t let it bother me, but looking back – I paid $250 for 5 bustle buttons and they lasted less than 10 minutes. My MOH (who has worked in the past as a Bridal Attendant) and my Bridal Attendant both agreed that the loops were too tight and the whole thing gave out. I’m going to speak to Lillettes.

Ultimate Class Limo – Janice the driver – A
How cool is to have a female driver ? She was great (she also worked Jennbaby’s wedding). The limo was on time, clean and janice had a great personality – she even lent one of the BM her coat because she was cold.

Rabbi Laurence Siegel – A-
He was very nice to work with until the wedding, but he showed up later than we expected him, and was a bit crotchedy. That said he did the job and we’re married

Fr. Patrick Callan – A
Very nice man but he didn’t have much input in the ceremony, it was mostly a Jewish ceremony


Mormile Florist – A +/-
Mathew did a great job on my BQ, BM, centerpieces and the GM stuff. All very elegant and simple. The mothers wanted small hand held corsages, and he delivered wrist corsages. Not a big deal.

BRIDGEVIEW YACHT CLUB – A++++
These people know how to look after you and yours and give you a GREAT party. Not a single complaint for the place – between Kathy, Mike and the Bridal Attendant, Mary, there was nothing left undone. The food was awesome, the drinks kept flowing, and even though it wasn’t good day weather wise, nobody noticed.
One of the strangest compliments we got was “Our waiter was the best waiter we ever had at a wedding”. Like I said, they were awesome. They made the day as memorable as it was and DH and I had nothing to do but enjoy ourselves. I am sure all wedding places do this, but they kept everything running smoothly all night.
If anyone is using them and thinkinh of menu upgrades – we upgraded the appys to include the bacon wrapped scallops and the lamb chops (delicious) and the filet mignon on the dinner menu (also delicious)
At the end of the night the BP and us went out on the pier and took pictures with sparklers and one of the GM started singing God Bless America which was just perfect.


THE MYSTIC – band A++++
From the beginning DH & I knew we wanted a GREAT PARTY, we put a lot of thought into the band, and it paid off. Sam and the guys were brilliant. Our only instructions to them were a list of songs (4 in total) we did not want to hear and a list of 5 songs they had to play. We left the rest up to them, and they worked the crowd perfectly. We got great compliments on them – highly recommend them.
Sam even got us a bagpiper who played for 15 minutes during the salad course. He played a bunch of irish tunes and then he played the hava lava dida (I know I messed up the spelling, but any jewish bride will know what I am referring to) that was a huge hit – an Irish bagpiper playing a Jewish tune

Kende String Trio – A
This a family of 3 sisters all students at Julliard. We heard them at a wedding last year and decided to use them. The are all still teenagers and are great. I didn’t hear most of the music because I wasn’t there for the Prelude and Postlude, but again we got compliments

ADA – A +++
For video and photo
Mike Russo was the video guy and our video is ready !!! He was unobtrusive and really cool to work with
Tony Messina the photographer was great too – our pictures should be ready next week and the final verdict will be in then.

Bonaventure Tuxedo – B-
Some of the tuxedo's had something wrong with them, but according to DH, this is not unusual. THe staff were great and replaced everyhting as needed. They have a full service tailor available for repairs so everything was fine in the end and DH says he would use them again.

Congratulations!!! Everything sounds wonderful! BVYC is beautiful and Mike is a great friend of my brothers and soooo sweet!! I've also been to a wedding with the Mystic (and seen them at the bars) and they are great!!
