A friend of mine is having major problems TTC...

She is desperate and heartbroken, She has been trying for almost 3 yrs. She has a problem with her blood, that's why it hasnt happened yet. (She miscarried 2x). I don't know what to say.....any advice?

She feels even worse because now all our friends etc are getting preg...

Maybe she can try to talk with another dr.
I know a few people who were ttc for years and were ready to give up when they got pregnant.
Hope your friend has some good news to share soon.

Is she seeing a fertilty expert? Maybe try another Dr.

She has seen a few....has had in-vitro.....she's giving up....and I don't know what to say except have faith

Tell her not to give up. I used to work with a girl who ttc for years. She kept going for invetro or something and it kept getting stuck in her tubes which was very dangerous.
She finally decided to give it a break because she was tired of all the heartbreak.She went away for the weekend to New Hope,PA and wam she got pregnant. It can happen to your friend.

I think that some women can try and try and for whatever reason just not get or stay pg. I don't think you can say anything to make her feel better except " I love you and I am always here to listen" Also, taking her out to a movie or dinner without talking babies probably helps once in a while too.

I also think sometimes there are other ways to be a parent. Maybe you can help her investigate adoption throughout the US and the World. there are children that need mommys and daddys so badly.

I think sometimes the "Keep the Faith" line is hard to hear. Because it is hard to really believe at a time that you are in so much pain. Your friend is grieving. I feel so deeply for her. It must hurt more than words can even describe.

I do hope she finds peace no matter what happens. I think you are a very good friend to want to help her so badly

I just read somewhere that lubricants, like KY and stuff kill the sperm. I would have never thought much about it, except alot of my friends who are having problems TTC use it. Maybe there is a connection?

KY is not good when you are TTC. It isn't a spermicide but rather it traps the sperm and doesn't allow it to swim to the egg.

2 losses in 3 years is an awful lot. I agree w/Michele. There isn't much that you can say ... nothing will really help make her feel any better until that baby comes. They may be putting a lot of pressure on themselves, tho. IVF are extremely hard emotionally & when they are unsuccessful, its heartbreaking.

I would also recommend looking into adoption for now. Maybe the idea is difficult, but there are soooo many kids who need good homes now. They could be angels for an infant who needs them. I would consider it myself at sometime. And getting into the adoption process would take their minds off of their own stress. Then later, who knows? How many times have you heard about couples who adopted b/c they thought they couldn't get pg & then did afterwards!!

I hope it all works out for them!
