Is it rude to call people before RSVP date?
About half of my guests still have not RSVPed and the date is May 27th, this tuesday. I am thinking of calling some on my side of the family this weekend. What do you think?

Personally, I wouldn't call solely for this purpose, but if you are talking to them anyway, I would ask.

If they are family you can call and see if they are coming. If they haven't sent in the RSVP yet they may have forgotten when it's due.

Ditto, none of my family has RSVPed, including immediate aunts and uncles and my own family (who managed to lose the invite)

If you are stressing about it, call them, especially the immediate family, i don't know if it is rude or not though.
I personally wouldn't care.
What about making up some other reason to call them, and then throwing the question in.

IMO it's rude. You picked the rsvp date, don't call them in advance just for that. If someone did that to me I'd think..."why did you tell me to respond by ___ date if you wanted to know before that?"
Of course, if you're talking to them you can work it into the conversation:)
