A question about your gift box for the wedding?
Where do you plan on placing it and how will you make sure that nobody will steal the $$$?

mine has a lock on it 
I got a strong box & wrapped it in ivory satin & a bow. it has a slit in the top so I only have to open it to remove the cards.
Edited to add:
It will be underneath my Dais - the tablecloths are floor length in my hall

My mom and i decorated a mailbox, white satin, lace, sequins, there's a slot in the top. and we are putting it right near our table. Noone can open it. they way we decorated it, keeps it closed pretty good.

I'm using a white treasure chest box and I'm going to have the hall set up a small table right behind mine for it. The box has a lock on it.

I'm making a wedding cake one out of 3 different sized round papier mache hat boxes. Decorate them with fabric, lace, pearls, whatever. Cut holes out of bottoms (not the bottom one of course) and slit on top. I can't wait to make it!

My hall provides this big huge one.. for 200 bucks, they provide me with a security guard in regular clothes, who stands by it all night..

I just used one of those satin envelope bags- when I was done I gave it to my Grandma to watch. I wanted to do a bird cage, but my mom said that we weren't throwing the wedding to get gifts and it was presumptuous to have a gift "receptacle" on a table. I went table to table to thank ever guest for coming and for the gift. In my Italian family- anything less would have been perceived as rude.

I was going to do a bird cage as well, but my mom said the same thing as Sassyz75's. I was like ok mom, a bird cage is presumptuous but a huge satin bag is ok? Whatever...if it makes her happy, I'll carry the bag.

I actually didn't walk around with the bag... I would visit a table- the people would hand me the envelopes, and then I would give them to my grandma - she would put in the bag.
