What do I have to look for when choosing towels?What brand and quality should I look for?

I checked this on the consumer reports -- Fieldcrest is the best. RL you are paying a high price for a name.

I like fieldcrest, but if you're registering at macy's, check out the "Hotel" by Charter Club Micro-Cotton Bath towels. I recently bought a few, and they're heavenly.

I worked in the world of Domestics ladies. (worked in a buying office of a major dept store).
Fieldcrest Cannon MAKES Ralph Lauren sheets/towels, etc.
The world of retail is all about selling brand names, remember that marketing class ??
RL pays Fieldcrest (the bedding manufacturer) to make towels with the RL name on them. Mr. Lauren has NOT A CLUE about sheets and towels, lol
Quality is really dependent upon what type of cotton used (Egyptian Cotton, Pima cotton) and what thread count (for sheets).
Fieldcrest is definately one of the best.
