So bummed about my invites!!! (UPDATE!!!!)
So my proof came in yesterday along with the contract. At first I was so excited and happy, until.......I read the contract and found out that my invites are $200 above my budget. So FH and I have to think about how to bring down the cost without ruining the invite or where to cut costs. Because we are on such a tight budget already, I am not sure where else we can cut!!! So upset!!!   
ETA: Well, she really is amazing as everyone says she is. She brought it down $150...YAY!!!!!! So I think we are ready to sign and send in payment!!!!
I can hardly contain myself!!!!

There are things you can do to bring the costs down. Just speak with her. For instance, I am putting the monogram tabs on myself, and putting all of the inserts in myself. That's saving me about $50. Also, if you enter her contests, you can win money off of your invites too. I've saved about another $50 just from winning two contests

With your monogram tabs are they layered? Or do you have still glue each layer and then apply?

No I'm not doing the layering, I'm just going to put the whole piece on the front. So she'll do the layering and then mail that to me to put on the pocketfold.

i really love your invitation & am so upset that they are over your budget. i am not sure what your price quote is & what services you are getting but i think that it would be wise for you to really try to get them into your budget.
just some ideas:
assemble them yourself
address them yourself

Wanted to update and RAVE about her!! She really is one of my best vendors. Understands budgets and really works with you! So after numerous emails, we agreed on price and I signed the contract!!!!!!!!! Just need to approve my proof and send payment. I am going to overnight everything, but not tell FH, because he'll flip. Oh well!!! So a partial check for me!!!!

How did she go over budget? Did you put it on the initial inventory you sent her? She is great though. She's been my favorite vendor to work with so far.

I did, she went about $90 over our highest amount we wanted. But we worked on it and it is now only $60 above our target budget. So I am not complaining at all. She is my favorite so far too!
