Sad Brides

I went to a wedding last night where the poor bride was stuck in a wheelchair. Few weeks ago, she decided to change a lightbulb while standing on a chair with wheels. (I think you can figure out what happened next, hmm?) At first she thought she had hurt her leg, but after finally going to the doctor, it was her back. They had to cancel the honeymoon because she needs to have surgery.

Needless to say, she was a very unhappy bride.

She didn't smile once all night. Seeing the bride unhappy really brought me down too. Suddenly, I was not having fun. I mean, if the bride isn't enjoying her own day, how can everyone else? I as well as most of our table suddenly began seeing all of the negative things at the reception and not focusing on the happier things. It all went back to, "Look how unhappy ****** looks?". Imagine having to look bad on you $40,000 day and seeing pictures of you looking so miserable for the rest of our life?

My point of this thread is to remind you all that smiling is contagious. So is being miserable. You only have 24 hours to make your wedding what you want it to be, try to see if your smile can outlast those hours.

Re: Sad Brides

I am sorry for that bride, I too hurt my back, not as serious as her, but my day won't be the same.

I will not be able to dance the way I wanted to but I will be the happiest bride in the world to be marrying John

Re: Sad Brides

She looked more like she was on death row...
She would throw a fake smile for the camera and return to a pout within seconds.

Re: Sad Brides

I was at a wedding a few weeks ago. the bride is just mental & can never be happy for long. It showed during the whole wedding. People didn't enjoy themselves as much as they should have. I don't care what happens I will be smiling ear to ear on my day. That's alot of $$$ wasted to be a sour puss!!

Re: Sad Brides

It's sad that this bride looked miserable. It seems like she was focusing on what she couldn't do at her wedding rather than marrying the man of her dreams. The point of a wedding is the celebration of love and commitment. That is good advice, aliasPook, even if things don't go your way, be happy and have a great time.

Re: Sad Brides

See its all in the attitude, b/c if I chose to go on w/ my wedding as an injured bride I would have the best attitude. I think she should have canceled if that was her attitude. It like starting her marriage on a sour note. Its all in how you handle the situation. She was alive to see her wedding day and have a wedding day just make the best of it.

On the news last night they showed a couple that got into an accident and they had their wedding in the hospital and all their bridal party wore hospital gowns and the bride was wheeled out on a wheel chair with her feet up and her bo-k on her lap. They will do a big celebration on their one year anniv. Its all in the attitude

So, so true everyone! It really is all in the attitude. I know people who will never be happy. They blame everyone and everything but themselves. It's sad, really.

Re: Sad Brides

i have to agree - positive attitudes get you everywhere....and you always have to remember that thigns dont alwyas work out the way you want them to but you can still make the best of it.....truth be told, she still got to marry him and hopefully have a long happy life together.....some people never even get that...

Re: Sad Brides

I think that hospital story is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would have my ceremony in teh hospital and I would let my reception go on without me. I would want everyone to enjoy our day!
