eparty review AND PICS!!

Where to begin... the night was amazing!!
Everyone had a great time except for it seems FH's sister but who cares about her anyway! Alot of people were wasted even when we continued to party at Don Juan's. I am still recovering big time. I spent my entire birthday (4/19) in bed and I was in BAD shape. All worth it though! FH was a mess, my mommy's legs were killing her from all the dancing. My dad was exhausted. And my sister who NEVER dances was that night and was in bed all day Saturday.

I will start from the beginning.
I woke-up late, made a cup of tea, read the NYTimes in bed by myself. I really tried to relax before I started on my missions. I really think this helped me calm down and helped me relax as the night approached.
I went to Coral House first to drop off the balloons. FH, me and my mom finished the centerpieces together.

Off to get my hair done I went. I was almost in tears when I left. A big F for them! Although my mom has gone to the same salon for years I went with her for the first time. Bad choice to do that! The stylist could not do my hair the way I wanted her to do it. I came out with a made up style but whatever.

Denise from Angel Eyes: A++++++++++
Denise is AMAZING!!! She was soooo patient with me. I had her waiting for 45 minutes in front of my house b/c I was running late from the hair salon. She calmed me down, we chit chatted. And she made me look so different. I am not one to wear a lot of make-up but my mom was hovering over her the entire time and she LOVED my make-up! She also did my mom's and she looked so pretty! So many people commented on our make-up. I used Denise as a trial for the eparty and DEF. will not see anyone else for the wedding. I have to do a wedding trial with her b/c the make-up I had for the eparty was more dramatic than I would want for the wedding day.

Coral House: A-
They did an awesome job. However there were a couple of things I didn't like that I let go. I think this is where a Bridezilla would kick in. But I didn't. I was so calm about it when FH noticed something or I did. The best thing is that FH noticed more than I did. He was so cute! So patient with me but he was completely shocked at how lightly I took things. I didn't let bad things bother me. I let everything go which I think is important for you to be able to enjoy yourself whether it be an eparty or the wedding.
The cake (which I didn't even taste) was not done the way we had agreed. We should have had the 2 layers of filling. We got half of one side of the cake being chocolate filling and the other side strawberry filling. FH pointed it out to me and I just let it go.
The bruschetta is NOT bruschetta. That is all I kept talking about and looking for b/c its my favorite appetizer. It was more of a pizza wedge type of hors d'ouevre.
HOWEVER, they gave us MORE food than we had asked for, more hors d'ouevres than we had asked for and the bartender was really cool. The service was excellent.

Doochie Dee Productions (DJ):A+
He did an awesome job!!! We had given him a list of songs over the phone of what we wanted and didn't want. FH burned a couple of CD's just in case he didn't have some of the songs. He ended up playing songs we had NOT discussed that were awesome songs! He completely read the crowd and played the music that the crowd wanted to hear. FH's godmother mentioned to him to ask the DJ to play more calypso and soca (he only did during the cocktail hour and 15 minutes after that) ironically as FH was going to approach Doochie, a calypso song comes on.

I don't know who it was that mentioned the smoking ban thing but I HATE IT!!!! At one point ALL my smoking friends were outside and that left FH and I dancing alone w/ the older crowd. We were in our own little world so it didn't matter but I was telling FH where is everybody??Smoking outside!

My mommy surprised me with a cake for my b-day. She planned it with our Maitre d' Jill. Who by the way was a complete DOLL!! Everyone sang me happy birthday and all that good stuff. At midnight FH and Doochie had teamed up to play 50 Cent's song.

LAProductions: A-
Laura is very talented so creative and helpful. I started freaking out b/c the first set of 40 magnets we had done the ends were not glueing down. FH's mom put hers up on Saturday when we got the package. By Monday the vellum had come off. I was FREAKING out!!! We realized that there was so much wait under the vellum it wasn't sitting down properly. So she took them all back and used another type of glue as well as laminated the vellum to give it more weight. My anal retentive self proceeded to examine them again and decided that won't work so FH bought crazy glue and we used that. That sealed them perfectly. To make up for the problem Laura gave me 5 more at no charge which I needed. I will need to do more for the out of town guests and those that didn't attend the eparty. I will have her do my invites for the wedding as well as the BM cards and any other stationery I will need.

The kid gift bags were a HIT!! All my cutie patutties loved their gifts. I just kept smiling everytime I saw a mom or one of the children dig their hands in the bag to see what was in it. For Carl's nephew we had a Spiderman puzzle, Tarzan coloring book with its own crayons, a batman and robin book, Sponge Bob water toy and not sure what else...
For the 3 girls we gave them Dora the Explorer stickers, Cinderella coloring books and crayons, Sponge Bob water toy, and a Dora the Explorer belt bag that contaiend all these goodies. For the baby of the family we got her two beginner books with shapes and stuff to squeeze and a stuffed animal.

All in all everyone had a wonderful time.
I would strongly recommend to let things go. Alot of people kept telling us, this is practice for the wedding and I sure see how it was. All those little things that didn't work out I just let go and moved on.

I completely forgot to do our guest book. I worked so hard on it. Forgot about it. My BM that was going to help me kept reminding me about it and I kept putting it aside. Before I knew it our last song-Conga line was over and we were done! It flies by so fast.

Although this was just an eparty, seeing all our family and friends enjoy themselves, talking to each other made up for all the planning we did. Our favors programs and frame cards were a hit. And lastly FH and I enjoyed every minute of that night. From the minute we got to CH and met Jill, till the last dance and when we when we jumped in the car to go to Don Juan's we had a blast. We still talk about all these moments we had and giggle away. Every table used their cameras. We did have no shows, but it was their loss not ours. They missed in all the fun. A couple of FH's neighbors told him the day after: you guys sure no how to throw a party!! The only negative thing right now is that we did not take ONE picture with FH's parents or family members. I don't know what happened. We just never did.
I can't WAIT till the wedding it is going to be INSANE!!!

Lastly, FH surprised me with a hand drawn picture we used for our magnet favors! I was in complete utter shock at what he did. It was by far the sweetest gift I received that night. I can’t wait to get it framed (he didn’t have time to run to Michael’s). My Baby Cakes is the sweetest man in the world!

Congrats! Sounds like you had a great time! My FI's friends spent most of the time outside smoking during my eparty too; It kind of put a damper on the party because I felt like not only did I have to mingle with all the guest but I had to keep leaving the party to go outside and mingle!
