repost: caligraphy price
my brothers gf does caligraphy and someone asked her to do placecards...about 300 of them. what do you think would be a fair price to charge.

I would say probably around $150 is fair, but it depends upon how long it's going to take her to finish them. If it's going to take her awhile, than maybe $175?

My calligrapher charges $1.00 or so per card, if you supply the card. Is she doing it by hand or computer? Just ask her what is a fair price.

Placecards might be a little easier than invitations - I've heard of charging $1.50-$3 per envelope, so maybe $1 or $1.50 for each placecard? It's hard to say without knowing how much writing is involved, what type of ink or paint they're using (some is more expensive than others, etc)
