My Flowerfield 3-30-03 wedding review w/ pics

Well, first it rained and snowed March 30. Not exactly had I pictured my wedding day, but beautiful anyway.
LYNBROOK BRIDAL CENTER- B+
After I purchased a sample gown prematurely, they really came through. I was engaged 9/8/01 and the day after 9/11, my mother and I went to look at wedding dresses. We both work in Manhattan and instead of staring at the TV we both had the day off so we looked at dresses. I bought a sample in the heat of the moment and I should have waited. I bought it without even having a wedding date yet..so when I went to go to set up my 1st fitting appt a year later, the dress looked really bad on me. BUT..Lynbrook Bridal Center let me apply the money I paid for the sample towards a brand new dress. Their seamstress was a doll and the dress fit perfectly. The salesperson was really nice too. I felt like a princess in my dress! It was a MOONLIGHT bridal gown.
FLOWERS BY BURTON: A
I got a really great price for my 45 rose spiral candelabra high centerpiece. Each centerpiece had 15 red, 15 white and 15 pink roses in it, some ivy and some sort of orchids that I can't remember the name of. I kept the theme throughout the bouquets and flowergirl baskets and I thought they looked beautiful. I almost started crying. I heard that the throw away bouquet they give you is skimpy, so I upgraded that bouquet to roses also..it really looked beautiful. The flowers stayed fresh all day and I was really pleased. I got to see the sample a few days before the wedding. The color red that was in the centerpieces were a little too dark, I told them what I wanted and it showed up the day of the wedding exactly the way I wanted them too! They were on time and I wouldn't have changed a thing. I didn't use them for church arrangements because it is Lent and I bought my pew bows on EBAY myself so I can't comment on stuff for the church.
DESIGNER LIMOS: A-
I will give them an A- even though the Rolls Royce that was picking me up broke down on the way to my house. I wouldn't even have know if they didn't tell me. The car was there before the time I had scheduled them for so I was not mad. I didn't like the glasses for the toast in the Rolls Royce. They weren't champagne glasses...that's what I thought they should be..I guess if that was my biggest complaint..they did a good job! I heard the SUV limo for the bridal party was great, my driver was great and we all got to where we had to go quickly and safely. I also got a great price and they picked me up for $40 at the end of the reception to the Garden City Hotel.
JACQUELINE NICOLE: A++++++++++++++
Wow, did I feel beautiful that day! She works quickly, works magic, that airbrush stuff is the greatest...I just love her. My Mom looked beautiful too! Also..she did one of my bridesmaids and made her look like a movie star! I would use her again in a second!
ELENA, THE BRIDAL ASSISTANT: A
I was brave and wore my hair straight. I thought it came out great! She straightened it, she curled it and I thought I looked great (hey, that is what everyone was telling me!) She also did my sister's (ALIASPOOK) bridal trial. She looked amazing!
She also helped with one of my flowergirls hair and she did one of my bridesmaids hair (put in an extension and it looked great).
DAVID TABACHNIK: A+
He played the piano at cocktail hour. I found him while he was playing the piano at a bridal show at Flowerfield. He sounded great!!

I found them to be major stress relievers and just a pleasure to have around with me all day. Lia and Paula are the sweetest, helped me everytime someone pulled off my headpiece...the veil was really long and kind of a pain! I think we got some wonderful shots..especially in the snow..
Nelson (video man) let me listen to what my husband was saying on the altar by an earpiece connected to my hubby's microphone while I was in the limo. It was very comforting...because I was nervous! FLOWERFIELD:A++++++++++
OK..we all know the place is gorgeous...but it looked 40 million times more beautiful on my wedding day! I heard the food (because I literally did not eat or drink all day) was phenomenal. The cake was beautiful and the service was fantastic. I would love to be a guest at a wedding there! It looked like some magical place with the snow falling and the lights and the cocktail hour room is stunning! I called some of my guests to get their view of my wedding day...they ALL said it was the best wedding the have ever been to. I had "winter warmers" passed (hot chocolate with Peppermint Schnapps passed and hot apple cider). These were a hit! The hot chocolate I actually did drink..yummy. I finally found the food that Flowerfield wrapped up for us. We had it last night...YUMMY!
TOMMY'S TUNES (DJ) A
I had a great crowd but my MC Joe E was the best...not cheesy and the dance floor was packed...even my grandmother was dancing to "Let's Get Loud" by Jennifer Lopez. All my guests said they could of danced for another 5 hours.. I was sad that it went by so fast.
LA PRODUCTIONS: A++++++++++++++++++
My invitations were the most beautiful I have ever seen!!! Laura made my bridesmaids cards, program and rose petal baskets..she even gave me little wedding day tatoos to wear..didn't yet..saving for honeymoon! She made me a shadow box with my invitatiom. It looked beautiful! I drove this woman crazy and she will do anything to please...
LINDA LOVELIES: A
I ordered my unity candle from Linda and I won the free rose petals cones at the LIWeddings get together. They came out great...

Other details: Programs were made by my Bridesmaid Jennifer....Thank you, they were gorgeous!!!!!!!
I had "Tears of Joy" packets made by some vendor on EBAY...everyone cried. I think they were useful!
I had Bubble Gum Buddies Bride and Grooms for the kids...
FAVORS: I got 3 different Mikasa Bottle Stoppers:
Venus (the heart), the American Flag in a Heart, and the grapes...I hope everyone like them. I got free shipping and no tax and got them for a great price $5.25 each.
I had table cameras..got them at Costco for a good price. I wanted to do the poem with the scavenger hunt but I ran out of time! Half of them had no pictures left. I am developing them today!

********So....Wedding advice from a Newlywed...
I cryed the whole way down the aisle..had most of the church balling their eyes out...I didnt notice any of the details (like my beautiful pew bows), the people in church..even "Here Comes the Bride" playing....all the details that I had worked so hard on. Stop look and really take it all in. EAT YOUR FOOD AND DRINK YOUR DRINKS...you paid all that money so enjoy it!
Finish all the details way before the week of the wedding so you don't stress out and become Bridezilla like I did...
DANCE YOUR BUTT OFF....I did and I had the best time of my life...
Kiss your honey often...I did every chance I got!

wasted my money because we fell alseep, they never offered us the chocolate covered strawberries that I paid for with the Wedding Pleasures Package. I guess it was a Sunday night so the atmosphere was different. Breakfast the next morning was delicious though and I needed it because I was starving!

I worked your party on sunday, I'm a waitress at flowerfeilds, your wedding was beautiful, I think i waited with your parents after the wedding for the shuttle. Congratualtions, you really looked beautiful.

Thanks everyone! I guess you have all read what my sister (ALIASPOOK) wrote about the theft of our family's things at my parents house. I will write a complete review from my aspect of the day and I will post more pictures...
It really was the best day of my life.
Flowerfield was so magical especially with the snow. Who would have figured that we would get snow at the end of March?
