November Brides

Hellooooooo fellow November brides!

When is your big day and how much do you have left to do?

Mine is Nov. 8th and I'm pretty much done. I just have to order programs for the church, invitations and lose 10 pounds :)

Re: November Brides

Hi there! I am November 8th too. I have ALOT to do. Pick a florist (I am close), pick invitations, order save the dates, decide on make-up artist, order the BM dresses... I am sure there is tons more. Oh yeah, order a veil and a tirara, get shoes, work on hotels for out of town guests. I could think of 10 more things if I wanted to! Help- I'm stressed!

Re: November Brides

Another November bride here, the 22nd.

I need to go and look for a dress, pick out BM dresses, get a rabbi to marry me!

I also have to look for invitations, decide on a honeymoon destination.

I got so many things done when I first got engaged such as band, florist, photographer, videographer and then everything slowed down.

Re: November Brides

My FH is a landscaper so we won't be going anywhere until Feb/March 2004.

We plan on going to Atlantis. I got quoted about $3500 for 5 days, 4 nights in the beach towers with meal plan and airfare for the week of 11/10.

You could probably get a great deal on Vegas. Just beware of all the tropical islands b/c it is the end of hurricane season!

Re: November Brides

We are going to Hawaii! I am so excited!!!!!! This weekend was productive. We ordered the BM dresses and decided on invitations- now we just have to go order them. We are ALMOST decided on a florist. And we picked the hotels! I am so happy we got so much done. For a while us too were full steam ahead- then it all slowed down!

Re: November Brides

Thanks Lorimori for the offer of help!! I really appreciate it!

Jodi- we blocked the Inn at Fox Hollow and the Best Western. We also looked at the Marriott Residence Inn that Crest Hollow recommends and it was very nice but pretty much the same price at the Fox Hollow and not as close. Which ones are you doing? The Best Western is okay- not luxurious but for people who just need a place to crash it's fine!

Re: November Brides

Meredith,

I loved the Fox Hollow Inn and that is where we are going to stay on our wedding night. I also looked at the Best Western and I will probably block rooms off there. What quotes did you get from both places?

I also looked at the Marriot and did not think it was anything special. There is also the Holiday Inn right off the LIE which I may look into.

Jodi

You are only two weeks before me and have so much more done! YIKES!

Re: November Brides

Hey Jodi,
For the Fox Hollow we have a group rate of $189 per night but I think the bridal suite is higher (they have alot of nerve!!). For the Best Western, the rate is $109 but I think people can get an even better rate off the Internet. I actually just called them again because they never faxed me the contract. It's like pulling teeth sometimes. I don't feel like I have all that much done!!! What are you missing?

Re: November Brides

Meredith,

To start with, I need to look for a dress! I am planning on going at the end of this month.

Fox Hollow quoted me 259 for the bridal suite. I guess we are going to go with that. I do not think many guests will want to stay there though because of the high price and I do not blame them one bit. I was quoted 109 at Best Western also.

Jodi

Re: November Brides

I have to start calling hotels tomorrow......yikes! I also have to get a bus to take my family from the hotel to the hall and then back to the hotel.

I am hopefully a few days away from getting FH's family list for the big day so I know how many people I'm inviting.

I have to call my florist and make a few changes - I have to finish my playlist for my DJ - call my girlfriend who does invitations - ask my girlfriend at work if she can do calligraphy for my invites (she is so awesome) - oh and in the midst of this go to contract on a house and find a mortgage. This is why I like to do things early......less stress later on.

I still feel like I'm forgetting something - oh wait...a second job to pay for all of this.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH

Re: November Brides

Wow Lorimari- you are really far into this. I am impressed. I haven't even ordered my invites yet.

Jodi- $259 is alot- I think they quoted us $209 or $229. You should double-check. For such an expensive hotel they are not that helpful! I am a little disappointed. But the hotel is beautiful. Have you looked at the Best Western? It's totally fine for people to stay at. It's not luxury but most people just want some place to sleep!

Yes you DO need to go dress shopping! Have you started? What are you looking for? Maybe I can help- I went to a million dress shops!

Re: November Brides

Yeah - I am far into it b/c we move into our house in September so I want to have everything done by then.

Note to you guys for Hotels: I just blocked out rooms at the Hampton Inn in Commack and was quoted $110 per night and it includes breakfast the next morning! I'd give a call :)
