stupid officiant question
For ladies using officiants .. who get the license ? I know when my sis did it at church they had to go like a month before to city hall to get the license and give it to the church. But the officiant is basically acting like city hall, so do we get the licesne or does he?

the license is a state thing, you have to get it yourself no matter what. Nobody else can do it for you. You bring your license to the church or officiant so that witnesses sign and it and he sends it out.
However, the license is to receive a state marriage certificate. The church gives you their own separate certificate if you get married in the church

you have to get in 24 hours in advance and it is only valid for 60 days
