NRW: Do you save things or throw things out?

I am sitting here going through fall cleaning and just packing things to donate, throw out etc. I just handed DH tonssss of his clothes to sort (aka THROW OUT or donate). I can not believe that every item (which he has not worn in years!!) he is looking at and saying "I remember this xyz, it was so _______ when I got it". My response you dont wear it put it in the pile to donate. Of course he is folding them neatly and putting them away
Are you or FH/DH savers? Or do you throw things out.

we are the opposite, i save EVERYTHING. Its actually ridiculous some of the stuff i keep lol but i just cant throw some things out.

Dh doesnt really have this problem. Even recently he packed up 2 big boxes of clothes, and ALOT were even pretty new or barely worn. But he said "oh they dont fit me right now" bc hes gained a few pounds, my reaction was "what if you lose weight soon why throw it out" but he gave one box to his brother and another box he is donating, i know they do it through his church and his mom always does this so i think thats what he is doing.

I'm down the middle. I donate old clothes often but I probably should get rid of more than I do get rid of.

ok maybe this case it has something to do with being an only child. Hmmmm trying to see what the connection is with saving things and being an only child

its funny bc the whole only child thing came up recently, but it was me telling DH that you would swear he was the only child not me lol

Re: NRW: Do you save things or throw things out?

oh jeez... i am right now trying to go thru EVERYTHING because I'll be moving to Colorado after the wedding. Not only that, I think my parents might be leaving their house as well so literally EVERYTHING needs to be gone thru.

I definitely save too much, I think. But lately I've been doing good with throwing things away. FH saves things, but not too much. He's pretty good with keeping things moderate. He has no idea how MUCH stuff I'm bringing with me to his house in Co tho. It's ridiculous.

I have some more ammunition for your argument. I am a purdger I love to throw things out, delight in cleaning out the closets and ridding the apartment of clutter. My FH on the other hand has terrible anxiety over parting with anything....AND HE IS AN ONLY CHILD

thats so funny. I am trying to think why us only children have a hard time parting with our belongings can it be just a coincidence lol. Other behaviors i can see why it applies to only children, this one i cant figure out why, maybe we just have issues

We are the opposites. I throw everything out and my FH saves everything. I keep telling him, if you buy something new, you have to throw something old out!
