gifts or money?

Did a lot of you get gifts for your wedding? My registry is almost complete since i had an engagement party and a shower. But a lot of my friends are asking me where i am registered. I was hoping for money, not gifts...does that sound selfish? I guess I should register for more stuff...but i already feel i have everything i need!

Did you girls have the same problem?

I had about a dozen gifts brought to my wedding with close to 200 in attendance. Some guests who could not attend my shower, brought a registy item along in addition to a card. Only 2 or 3 guests gave us a gift alone, but I'll take that over those guests who brought us nothing. I know we all prefer $$$$

All but 2-3 NY guests gave money (cash or check) and the others gave personal non-registry gifts. All but 2-3 OOT guests who gave us wedding gifts gave physical wrapped gifts, but had them sent to us before or after the wedding. Almost all were from our registry, but by the time the wedding rolled around it was slim picking on our registries (from e-party, shower, early OOT wedding gifts) so we did get a few non-registry gifts as well from places we registered.
