Place Card Holders & Favors

Hi ladies!!!

My invitations are just going out this week and I have no idea how many people will show up, just that our min is 175.

1 - When did you guys order your place card holders and favors?

2 - How did you guys figure out how much to order especially of the place card holders? For favors i think we will give each person attending a favor since it's a samll ornament.

I ordered my favors about 3 weeks before.
Honestly, I wouldn't buy anything until you get most of your RSVPs back.. you don't want to get stuck with lots of extras!

I actually ordered my placecard holders (which are also little fall candleholders and my favors) wayyyy early - like last year! they came in bunches of 24 so I got 96 knowing i would never need more than that. i have 136 coming to the wedding and most of those are couples, so I will have extra, but at $1.15 per placecard holder, that's ok with me. i'll have extras for myself for when i have thanksgiving!!!! I may give some to my aunt too who always has thanksgiving.

I ordered them about a month and a half before the wedding, I ordered 5 extra of each (this was the week after RSVP), not that people RSVpd on time...

I ordered my favors about 6 months before but I'm a little insane. They were in 2 months before the wedding, but i didn't pick them up until about 3 weeks prior. I have about 2 extra boxes still!

figure out how long it takes to ship the stuff (also take into consideration the upcoming holidays and slowness with deliveries) and how long itll take u to put everything together...that should help u figure out how far in advance from your date u need to place the order.



as far as how many...see if your rsvp date is before the date that u would need to order the stuff...if it is...maybe hold off cuz ull have better counts as the rsvps come in. but i would order a few extra anyway cuz of breakage and potential unaccounted guests.

I got my favors last year, because they werent typical wedding favors, and they wouldnt be in the store very long... so I got enough for 180 people (1 per couple).
I also got my place card holders last year around xmas time at Pier 1. I am gonna have too many, but thats ok.
I saw stuff and liked it at the time, so I bought it. I would suggest getting at least 12-15 extra of anything you would normally buy.
