Taverna is excellent. I remember sitting next to a very nice couple once and the guy told us they come once a week from Manhattan to eat there!! Lemon potatoes are to die for. I could live off those potatoes.
Denise, Nuevo Jardin looks like it would be a regular chinese place but its not. The food is excellent. If you guys go there, the most popular dish is the steak & onions. Its scrumptious.
Thats so funny about Porto Bello!! Chris and I have been addicted to their chicken parmesan for years. We love their sauce. Its soooooo tasty.  Joe was your sexy delivery boy. If Chris had that job I would have been ordering A LOT of Porto Bello

ahhh ok that explains why i havent gone to nuevo jardin, i dont like chinese food so probably thought thats all it was.
Yeah we go to portobello all the time, ilove their fried calamari too. I also love their chicken pizza. HAHAHA yeah, but i knew who he was before he ever delivered to me and i remember one time i ordered and then saw it was him, i looked like such a mess and i was like W** thats the guy i see in the clubs and i look like this but also all the other guys at porto bello's are cool, dh is friends with them so its a nice laid back place to go eat.

its so funny bc one thing they dont do is melt cheese, and one guy i know will always yell at anyone who says its the best place and say "how is it the best place if they dont melt cheese" lol but we used to always get our sandwiches from there whenever we went to the beach and pack our coolers, also great adventure or anywhere we'd go to like that and bring our own lunch.
I also like bon appetite on ditmars, right by alba's. Theyhave great wraps
Oooo and for sausages you HAVE to go to joes pork store, its on 38th and ditmars. That store has been around since the 1920's or 1930's i forgot, they even have the register from back then. They make all their own sausages, all kinds too and even those italian ones that are hard and you eat cold, its the best ive ever had. Its a very small place but stayed in business all this time bc of how awesome their stuff are.

yes and we had the best time, it is very fun and great ambiance. Hmmm my drinks were ok but it was bacardi and diet coke so hard to screw that one up. One thing though is that dh drinks scotch and the only kind they had was jameson, which is one of the few scotches he doesnt drink so not much of a choice there.

They make all their own sausages, all kinds too and even those italian ones that are hard and you eat cold, its the best ive ever had. Its a very small place but stayed in business all this time bc of how awesome their stuff are.
Are you girls talking about The Sandwich King?? Chris loooooves that place but I always bother him like "ITS JUST A SANDWICH! How can someone make it better" HAHA He gets so annoyed but seriously.

yes the sandwich king hahahha... They are real good though and better than other places, not sure why hahaha.

We used to go to this other meat place on 24th Ave, Sonny's, and get these TASTY steak sandwiches with onions and cheese a few years ago. But we had to stop going there because of a racist comment the guy said. He was actually SOOOOOOOO nice to us and it was obviously a foot in mouth moment I think. But I just couldnt go back there anymore because it was the first time racism hit close to home for me.

has anyone else tried that new place on 31st street between ditmars and 21st ave,its called Mojave. The place looks real nice , nice atmosphere. Dh had went first with friends and said how awesome it was. We went together another time and it was ok not great but they give you these dipping sauces with certain meals and i seriously got so sick, they were so heavy. I was sick for 2 days. Everyone else loves it though lol. But certain foods can get me sick like that.

yes they make homemade spanish food all the time, i had it and that was good too. But i always go for the cuban sandwich. Yeah right on 21st ave. You always see the correction officers there

no ive never been to fatty's. Ive seen it and wondered about it but if they have cuban sandwiches ill try it now haha. I saw fatty's cafe on tv recently, forgot what show but it was about restaurants in nyc and i think they did a thing on queens
