oh I also forgot, there's this greek bakery called Artopolis(sp) is right by the train tracks (NW) near Ditmars and they have the best bread, spanikopitas(sp), and its such a cute bakery. We love it there.

Oh yeah the Basurero! My sister loves that place. I haven't been there yet.

I cant believe i forgot one of my favorite places, its in LIC and we also had our RD there. The waterfront crabhouse, the food is AMAZING!!!! their crabmeat stuffing is to die for, i love the chicken stuffed with shrimp and crabmeat but almost everything on the menu is so good. Its right by watertaxi.
i wanted to do the whole watertaxi thing for the longest.. hopefully soon..
well its outside and on the water so now its going to be real cold. Wait until like spring

Oh the waterfront crabmeat house I saw when I went to the watertaxi, we usually park our car near the restaurant instead of inside. Don't you love the LIC waterfront??? I wish we could afford one of those buildings!!!! I think LIC will be new Hoboken(NJ). I wanted to get married at The Metropolitan in LIC, I fell in love with that place.
yeah in those luxury buildings i was looking at listings for it, and most of them were about 600k for 1 bedroom. For 2 br's it got even more ridiculous and many of them were like 1.2 million for an apartment. Its crazy bc a few years ago LIC was not like that, they really fixed it up

Yes, the price of those luxury buildings are amazing, but you know what, they get the best views of the city, better than people that are in the city, get to watch the 4th of July like a VIP, around great restaurants, near the subway, you don't need anything else! I wouldn't hahaha!
I gotta go check Mccanns out then and I'll certantly be over at Martha's yum! Great to know they're open until late now

The food is good, we had the crab legs and they had to be the biggest crab legs ive seen and they were good. Its pricey though so thats one thing to keep in mind. The dessert was awesome too.

I found out that Calipso(that clothing store) have an outlet/warehouse open to public 3 times a week in LIC, I have the addres at home if anyone needs it.
I haven't checked out yet but I can't wait because I love that store

I was born and raised (all 32 years) in astoria, and i DO LOVE IT....but we just bought a house in Oyster Bay, and im excited about the change and having my own OWN home and doing the LI thing...the thing i will miss most is my 15 min commute to midtown ! But I will have a backyard and grass!!! WOOOO HOOO

Nuevo Jardin de China- We call it our Cuban Chinese place. They have this steak and onions thats so amazing and this shrimp in garlic sauce thats my FAVE! Its one block up from Tierras Colombiana on Broadway (One of my other faves)

Yes, Nuevo Jardin de china is great! Did you ever try Caravan chicken on Broadway? It's Peruvian Chinese, really good too!

All you girls make me want to cry  I miss LIC. I was practically born and raised there. My parents decided to move when I turned 16. I miss it so much. It's crazy how many restaurants are opening and how many gorgeous buildings are being built. If I was my age when they built those buildings I would have bought myself an apt. I checked it out being 16 just to see and they were going for $250k and up and now they are well over 600k People that used to live in the city are moving to LIC...I don't blame them.

They opened a new Sushi place in Hoyt Ave called SHI, I don't eat Sushi but the decor is gorgeous....I might take DH there for his bday instead of going into the city, the way I see it sooner or later LIC will be our little city in queens

never went to nuevo jardin de china, sounds real good.
Taverna kyclades has the best lemon potatoes, and the food is delicious
Rizzo's pizza is AWESOME. There was a list that came out for best pizzas in NY and Rizzo's won for the best neopolitan pizza, and won it a couple of times
Awww i love porto bello-joe used to deliver for them when he was in college, i remember always ordering from there and he'd deliver to me hahahaha.

it is crazy how much LIC has changed. DH's parents grew up there, his mom was born and raised in LIC, his dad moved there when he was 10. They always say how they cant believe what the neighborhood looks like now. If they only knew back then they would've bought something there but when they got married they bought a house in astoria. Even just a few years ago i remember how different it was. I used to go to court square to hang out with some ppl i knew and now when you go its like you dont even recognize some areas

sal and charlies, im guessing youre talking about this one bc this deli is very popular and known in astoria and everybody says its the best sandwiches. Its 33rd right, not 31st RIGHT underneath the train. But its by the amtrak or whatever track that is
